On finding out the price of "genuine" Bosch carbon brushes, we decided to give these a go, figuring that if they were no good we hadn't lost much. These turned out to be absolutely brilliant, and certainly do as good a job as the more expensive ones. They fitted perfectly, and obviously, as they have only just been inserted BOSCH SIEMENS WASHING MACHINE CARBON BRUSHES Equivalant TO BOSCH Part Number 154740, we don't know how long they will last. If they need changing sooner than the other ones did, again, it's no hardship, as I will still be sovereigns in! I am definitely amused with this purchase, as even I like a good bargain.

I bought these for a fraction of the price compared to the bosch site. My washing machine is working perfectly. It was a little fiddly to put them in but with some help from a demo on youtube I have saved costs from calling out for a service repair as well.

If you're ok with dragging the woshmosh out and refitting the brushes whenever, then buy these. They're a bit of a faff to fit, but hey, what do you want for three quid?They were speedily posted and well packed, can't fault the supplier. The bosch ones I bought were £30+ first time off and, sorry to say, didn't last 10 times longer than the ones that cost 3.So, summary, they're a faff to fit and don't last for ever but they're a bargain for what they are, buy 2 sets and keep the spares and REMEMBER where you put them...

You get what you pay for and that's certainly the case with these brushes. The carbon is of inferior quality and the construction of the brushes is poor. I fitted them to my Bosch washing machine motor in February and they only lasted for 8 months. After first fitting they were fine and the motor sounded like new again. However the motor stopped yesterday and when I pulled the washing machine out there was, quite literally, a pile of carbon on the floor under the machine. The brushes had worn mostly down and one had virtually disintegrated. True the washing machine is on almost daily but that's no excuse for the brushes lasting only 8 months. I have replaced them with some costing £21 from a local repair shop and the replacement ones are the ones that the shop uses on the machines they repair. To quote the man behind the counter "We don't sell those cheap Chinese ones that only last 5 minutes because of the poor carbon".

Kept as spares as I ordered a set from another supplier at the same time to get my machine operational asap.Exactly the same as the ones I fitted, so happy to recommend.Will come in useful if the machine lasts another 6 years!

Cheap but works

Our Bosch washing machine stopped working after only about 2 years. My husband is very 'hands-on' so he did a bit of rooting around and decided the brushes were what needed to be replaced. Ordered online, arrived very promptly to Ireland and only cost a few euro. Washing machine back up & running now.
