Resident Evil: Apocalypse
With Alexander Witt taking the directing helm and Paul WS Anderson turning to producing, this vivacious, fast-paced and tirelessly energetic action sci-fi sequel truly outdoes itself in way of scale, action and story. Milla Jovovich reprises her role as Alice, who (after Umbrella's frequent experimenting) is now a super-soldier/human hybrid with all her senses heightened in way of agility, strength and healing. Joining Alice is tough-as-nails cop chick Jill Valentine who (if anyone's played Resident Evil 3) dons the blue-top and black mini-skirt combo while equally-as-tough Umbrella employee Carlos Oliveira shows off some impressive moves as they and a group of survivors try to escape Umbrella's ultimate weapon, The Nemesis, who's equipped with a rocket launcher and a deluxe mini-gun (he looks fantastic and very freaky) and figuring a way out before a nuke destroys everything in Raccoon City. Casting Milla as Alice couldn't do this film any harm while Sienna Guillory is totally unique and very compelling as Jill while Oded Fehr is great as Oliveira. The supporters do their fair share of good acting while helping the story move nicely. The visuals are made with pure brilliance meaning the swiftly-made action sequences come thick and fast with big explosions and break-neck ass-kicking. Although the music's a tad disappointing, Witt's slick direction makes sure you concentrate on watching the cast every step of the way. Hopefully spawning another sequel in the coming years, for now though, us fans will have to make do with this dynamic instalment and I'm telling you, you won't be disappointed.

Game on
This sequel has done rather well and is as good as the first. In terms of the game this has much more in common with the games than the first, some of the scenes are almost lifetd straight from the game (helicopter shooting office block) for one. This covers areas of the 2nd and Nemesis games. With Nemesis a key character in this film. Continuing almost straight on from the first this is a cool action film in it's own right but has a good sense of humuor to. So if you just after a cool action film with some challenging stunts you'll enjoy this, but purely switch off your brain time action. Although I did feel a bit dissapointed with the ending to be honest and think a few others scenes would have beefed it up a little, maybe siege at the police station as in the 2nd game would have be fun.The DVD is loaded with extras, with some comparison to the games although as a big fan of the games wish this was more indepth than it is. You also get the usual making of, deleted scenes blooper reel and it really comes across how much fun the actors had making this film especially Jocahvich, and the zombie school is fun. Also includes a look at some of the stunts and special effects for key scenes and how they were done. Overall a very cool package for resident evil and action fans alike.

Fantastic movie series perfect for a date night or just because you want to watch something exciting
Fantastic movie to watch with fast action and a strong storyline does justice to the original video game and keeps a consistent storyline spread across the whole movie series and it is a gift that keeps on giving perfect to watch with any people except young ones because it is as horror thriller so DON'T LET LITTLE ONES WATCH be a good parent anyway fantastic 6 movies in total and a new series currently on Netflix

Resident Evil: Apocalypse feels closer to its source material but lacks focus.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse feels closer to its source material but lacks focus. The quest for mediocrity continues with this direct sequel. Despite the change of director and a full on charge to the action genre, it still falls short of being a good film. Alice wakes up, Raccoon City is ravaged by abandonment, she walks around until she stumbles across Jill Valentine. They are tasked with extracting a young girl out of the quarantined city before it becomes decimated in order to fight back against the T-Virus. Would I class this as an improvement over its predecessor? Tough to say. Most fans of the series will say this is the best instalment, and I can see why. Jill Valentine, despite Sienna Guillory looking like she is cosplaying, does kick ass and gives Alice a run for her money. Two strong female protagonists is refreshing to see. The stunts were well executed, including Alice running down a building whilst being attached to a cable. Nemesis looked great, although unfortunately incredibly underused and not nearly as threatening as he should be. If you played the game, you would know he is relentless. In this, not so much. The horror aspect obviously did not work in the first instalment, so completely shifting this into action gear was more suited. Milla Jovovich gives an enjoyably daring performance as we watch her grow into an action star. It is unfortunate that the story is somewhat underwhelming...again. Point A to point B to point C. Roll credits. The way the seperate parties unite feels far too coincidental. Although really do we care? They are so one dimensional that if any meet their demise, I feel nothing. The fight choreography has this generic annoying sound effect for every punch and kick. The over reliance of tilted camera angles makes Alexander Witt's directing style feel amateurish. Also, the full five minute expositional introduction was a waste of time that could've been spent developing the characters. Again, the series remains mediocre but somewhat watchable.

Great addition to the franchise!
I was truly blown away by the continuation of the Resident Evil Saga. I know there are a lot of complaints about the movie adaptation, but reviewing it whilst not comparing it to the video games, it’s definitely worth watching! Very enjoyable!

Wow they truly stepped up there game with this sensational action packed sequel.
As I have always found the first Resident Evil movie to be at least decent, I never figured as to what to expect from this 2nd chapter. Back in 2004 when this came out in theaters I had plans to go see this in the theater with my then girlfriend. I don't remember now why the plans fell through but later on one Friday night I rented this movie from the local Blockbuster and needless to say in no time at all this movie both blew me away and got me more enthralled then the first movie did.First let's talk about the new characters and returning character. Milla Jovovich is still gorgeous, captivating(in many ways) smoking hot and awesomely bada** as Alice. Sienna Guillory offers more eye-candy with her beautiful and sex appeal but she also offers another a force to reckon with being a no nonesense cop.
