Love the entire kestrel line. I own 3 of these now. One spinning with the kestrel sfs and the other paired with a valiant eagle 2 and the kestrel elite. On the elite reel (fantastic bfs reel) the brakes did take a while to break in but now the reel cast better than my shimano. This rod can easily handle larger fish despite what some reviews suggest. You just can’t boat flip a largemouth. Next I’ll be getting the light 3 piece rod to really get that distance in wanting but love it for trout and smallmouth bass

I bought this rod to pair with the kaatking kestrel reel for bfs fishing and i couldn't be happier. Great action and strength. I've already caught several pan fish and large mouth with it. I highly recommend it for an ultralight pole. The quality and finish is something you'd expect from a rod 2-3 times as expensive so great value for you money. When paired with kastkings kestrel reel it's a perfect fit and pro level of performance.

This rod breaks in 3 pieces so it’s so super easy to transport and its length doesn’t get in the way. It’s lightweight and has amazing action. This is my favorite bass fishing rod. It’s an excellent value!

Good pole, will land 5+ pounds large mouth bass, 3 piece is okay but will loosen up and should be checked regularly. Tip flew off on a cast, left it in my truck bed assembled and the heat had to have made the joints loosen abit. I got some good use out of it before that so it kinda paid off. Sensitive and versatile.

I caught a 3.05 lb & 2.6 lb Bass in a little over an hour in heavy cover using the 3 piece rod. I had this bad idea to make a BFS setup and then use it for Finesse Frogging setup with 8 pound KastKing braid. This Rod let me cast it a long ways, but also accurately. It has a great amount of back bone and sensitivity. It was able to horse both fish out of heavy cover and flip them up and over brush. That’s pretty demanding for a light rated 3 piece which speaks to its durability. I have zero complaints about its action and it has proven extremely versatile. It is also very light so I felt zero fatigue after an hour.I’ve bought a lot of rods over the years and a fair number of BFS rods recently and this is probably my favorite so far.

This pole has been the worst purchase I have made. It's over priced for the quality of the rod. The flexibility is awesome, however, when you go to set the hook on a fish, the rod snaps. Fits perfect in the hand, the functionality of the rod is nice. It does what you want it to do when it comes to being a sensitive rod. This is NOT recommended for big game fish. Blue Gil, Perch or any type of pan fish.

the blank broke in the reel seat after a few small catfish. really wanted to like this rod. had very good ergonomics and is very attractive design/finish. It does have a strong backbone though for being UL. I just think the reel seat has a bad design or i got a bad rod.
