Mass Veil Catholic Church Mantilla Chapel Lace Shawl or Scarf Latin Mass Head Cover with a Handy Storage Pouch

My veil literally just arrived 10 minutes ago; after opening it, I couldn't wait to write a review! I've been thinking about the practice of veiling for 2 or 3 months now. Last week, after being especially overcome with emotion following holy communion (I was literally on my knees crying), I finally made the decision to veil during Mass. As a child, I observed the older women wearing veils at my parish; I always thought it was beautiful, albeit old fashioned. Only old ladies do that, right? Well, I've either turned into an old lady in the past few days, or I've wizened up and realized that the gesture of covering my head during Mass is the least I can do to show respect in the presence of the Eucharist and humble myself before God. I've never had a veil before and therefore was a little lost on which one to choose. I am so glad I picked this one! It's lovely, so soft and lacey, yet it has a nice weight to it. I would define it as classy, tasteful and refined. The quality is very nice, especially considering how affordable it is. Some of the veils from other sellers looked way too young in style and were quite "showy"; they were not for me. The last thing I want to do is distract anyone during Mass with something that is attention grabbing - that is not what this is supposed to be about. I plan on ordering this veil in beige as well as gray next, as I am so pleased with the black one. Ash Wednesday is the day after tomorrow and I plan on wearing my lovely new veil for the first time that day. If you are just beginning to consider the practice of veiling, this one is a wonderful place to start; I highly recommend buying it. It will give you an opportunity to try it out without having to make a big investment. If you decide for any reason that veiling is not for you, it can always be used as a scarf to accent an outfit. Either way, I don't believe you will be disappointed, especially not at this particular price point. I would have gladly paid twice for this one.

I love how it is even more beautiful than the picture. It’s very soft as well. BUT it is shorter than the photo shows. That’s ok with me though, so 5 stars!

I got this for my upcoming honeymoon to Rome. I was excited to get a black veil because I’m a newlywed (Black is the traditional color for married women). I was going to make one but I was short on time and I saw that Amazon has them for super cheap! I got this one and I’m happy with my purchase. It is very soft, and stays in place. I like that it has long sides and a shorter back. The sides are cut a little wonky but it’s ok for a 10 dollar veil. I can’t wait to wear it in all the churches in the Eternal City!

Beautiful color and a soft synthetic lace. Inexpensively sewn with a low-quality rolled hem on the long side that frames the face. Trim is a pretty machine "crocheted" pendant type with a nice weight. Trim ends are just scissor snipped and not finished. Sides are much longer than the back - too long for me - find myself flipping them out of the way as if I'm wearing a scarf. Still, despite my critique, it's less expensive than buying the stiff "lace" from Joanne's and spending the time making one myself - and a more pleasant softness. I use for everyday Mass and home use.

My hair is dyed the exact same color as this veil, so it is a perfect match. The design is lovely and the color is a bold blue, and I feel that it is an beautiful homage to our Virgin Mary. I cut off the teardrop edging because I simply didn’t like the way they looked. Very light and will need to get a pin or small comb to keep it in place during Mass.

This is a very elegant veil. It's soft and drapes nicely.

Mine came with a fray or two but that doesn't make too much of a difference to me. I'm going for purpose not perfection. As soon as my mom saw it on me she asked why I hadn't bought her one - so I did! The edges look just beautiful when you wrap the side across your clavicle like a scarf. Can't wait to buy the other colors.
