Q: I see none of these guns pictured have a hammer on them. Will it fit a double action .38

It is perfect for a S&W Double Action Revolver made in 1884... The barrel is just the right size that it doesn't snag, but slides right through, and the actual gun fits perfectly. The hammer doesn't stick out. The only thing sticking out is the black handle with the beautiful S&W stamp. Granted: if I am understanding your question correctly, then we are talking about a 5-shot antique revolver made before 1899... However, these oldies do not use 38 SPL as I am sure you know. You can't use jacketed ammo. It has to be lead, and 38 SW caliber

Q: is the clip hard to get onto the pants? I have a cloth one but it's so hard to clip onto waistline of my jeans.

No, you get the feel for it quickly. It's a grippy little sucker, good quality spring steel. The last thing you want is your holster coming out when you sit down or stand up. I have found it easy to clip on. I clip it to the belt and pants. I don't even use my fabric holster anymore, this is so much more secure.

Q: Will this holster work with an eaa windicator?

Yes it will. I'm using it might my Eaa windicator and it works just fine. It's a tight fit but it just needs a little break in time.

Q: Will it fit a Taurus 856?

Good chance it will. Your Taurus may be a bit longer than my 70's S&W and definitely wider due to the six round capacity. I love my tactical leather for my older 38 special. Give it a shot, you can always return it.
