OEM fit and ride
It's provides a OEM or better ride, very stable. I've trusted this brand since the 1970's. The only concern I've ever had with Monroe, was a recently purchased pair of load adjusting (external spring) shocks for the rear of a WJ Jeep (1999-2004 Grand Cherokee); the fitting on the top end is tight against the unibody (despite trying washers as shims) because the top of the shock is wider than the OEM shock. It isn't making noise - but, I haven't driven it much since installing - I'll be checking on it occasionally. Given the orientation of the shock, I don't expect it to move/rub much.

Great shocks and very easy to install
I put these on the front of my Jeep Grand Cherokee (2000) and they fit perfectly and made the ride super smooth. I had old ones that were 130k OEM and weren't doing anything for me. Here's an removal tip that wasn't immediately apparent to me.....on the top stem of the old front shock, use a wrench to hold the bolt (15mm, I think) and then use a socket wrench to turn the stem (if yours is hexagonal OEM). Not vice versa like the Hayne's manual says. Use lots of PB buster on the bolts and go slow, it helps with the drivers side bolt that is squeezed in there by the brake master cyclinder. Install took me about 3 hours because I had to deal with quite a bit of rust on the rears, if you have less rust it shouldn't take long at all.

Mechanic recommended
I don't know about the ease of installation, but these shocks were recommended by my mechanic (in whom experience has compelled me to have absolute trust) and if he recommends them, so do I. In actual driving experience they have noticeably improved the characteristics of my vehicle.

Missing parts and box was already open
Seems to be a normal experience when trying to get auto parts on amazon. One box looked unopened and had all the pieces in it, the other looked like it had been returned and was missing the bushings, washers, and top nut. The shocks were not compressed enough to make an easy install, the plastic they put on it had slipped off where it originally was or they just do not care about giving you an easy install. Had to be bend over the wheel hub while trying to compress the shock and shove it into the top hole before it could expand again, and this was with the "factory" band still on the shock. I honestly dont think they have it on there for any reason other than keeping the piston from sliding off this cheap junk. Awful experience with this product. The only saving factor would have been if they could have changed the top bolt so you could use a hex wrench to keep the top of the shock from spinning when you put it on, but alas, all the missing nuts and bolts were different from OEM, so i had to rig it myself to get the shock installed. If you don't want bad reviews, then actually check to make sure all the parts are in the box before shipping it to someone as new. Bad experience, never touching Monroe products again.

Good purchase for the price
I replaced all four shocks on my 1999 Grand Cherokee Laredo at 115k miles. The old ones are junk covered with heavy rust. The installation was easy. I could have done it without removing wheels, but I did it just to give more room. With the new shocks the Jeep has less body roll. However it did not feel night and day improvement like I wished. They are a little bit too hard and bumpy to my preference.
