Its impossible to predict everything a transgender person has to go through or what might be needed. But, its a great primer for them, families and allies.

While this has some useful information, it's put together like someone did it in their living room and there isn't any information included that you can't find for free by searching google. This is not professionally written or published. I purchased this as a resource for a research paper, but the writer doesn't have any credentials to be speaking on this subject - at least nothing that is listed in the book itself and it is published by the writer, not a known publishing company. Lastly, It's also only about 10 pages - more like a pamphlet than a book. Waste of my money in my opinion. Extremely disappointed.

As soon as I opened the book there was the use of the word gender when they meant sex, it’s sad to read a book that has hope of being so helpful but I felt so let down by it. Please if you are the author reading this review, remove this book from publication or revise your writing.

Disappointed in lack of depth of information....more like a pamphlet than a book

This has very unfortunate generalizations about gender dysphoria and it's causes and uses significant heteronormative stereotypes to define being transgender in traditional roles. It fails spectacularly to address the gender spectrum as a whole and instead focuses on black and white interpretations.

Nice abbreviated text on gender dysphoria in an easy to read book perfect for people wanting a quick overview on gender. Took less than an hour to read.

Well written answering questions asked by many both transgender and those needing answers about what is happening in a friends or loved ones lives

I picked this up for a quick read to understand a client situation. Not a treatment guide nor biased. Factual and a good overview.

Unfortunately does not cover the subject well; immediately uses "sex" and "gender" interchangeably, suggests that there are only two genders (frequently mentions "the opposite sex" or "the opposite gender"). This is erasive of nonbinary genders, which also fall under the trans umbrella. Perpetuates the antiquated and no longer accepted notion of transgender people being 'born in the wrong body'.
