 I often have issue with short battery life of small hidden cams as they can't fit a big battery in them. So I decided to find a small camera that can be connected to my 20,000mAh battery bank with motion detection capability for long hours of standby and recording time. This desk lamp is exactly what I was looking for. It works for weeks and the 5v power consumption is about 0.175 amp with the LED light being OFF (both when recording and motion detection modes) and 0.430 amp with the LED light being ON. So you can calculate depending on your battery bank how much usage time you can with it. and It's doesn't look like a camera and the camera hole is not super obvious as it can look like a light sensor just like the one on my Galaxy S6 phone. The goose-neck is solid stays in place. The video/Audio quality is good. The video resolution is 1920 x 1080 @ 30FPS and the audio bit rate is 512 kbps. Its operation is very easy once the card is inserted and plugged in it starts to take video and if the top buttons is pressed it goes to motion detection mode. The lower button is for the LED light. Also when connected to the computer it can act as a webcam. I caught a squirrel stealing my bird-foods with this nifty thing btw :)

The picture and sound quality are great. I like that the camera came with an adapter that can be plugged into the wall rather than just a usb port. The led light is very bright. I don't like that when the camera starts recording a red light turns on. To me that is a giveaway that the device is more than an innocent lamp. The instructions are written in very poor English and are difficult to decipher. Fortunately it was easy enough to figure out on my own.

The video recorder looks pretty good. Great stuff if you trying to prank someone or something with hidden camera or you can do more stuff with it .overall I'm satisfied with the product. Only bad thing you need to have sd card.

What a clever little gadget you would never even know there’s a camera on it it’s super tiny and you can’t see it at all and this is a neat little thing to have around nice little nanny cam or little cam to have at your office to keep an eye on things when you’re not around.

Just don't buy this jenky piece of crap unless you want to waste a lot of time and energy trying to get it to work. My computer won't read the card when I plug in the usb, why?? The card is hard to get in the slot. Poorly made. Not as adjustable as a lamp as it looks. etc.

STRAIGHT GARBAGE!! IT NEVER WORKED! IT WAS AN EXPENSIVE DESK LAMP!!! I BELIEVE THAT THE PEOPLE RATING THIS MUST WORK FOR THE COMPANY!!

This is a good idea, the usb lamp is easy to use, the camera is very hidden.

Don't buy it junk still have not got my money or a replacement?

I am starting to believe that every hidden camera on Amazon is made by the exact company with the exact camera tucked into some piece of junk.

The instructions are hard to follow can't figure out how to use it

I could not get it to record motion-only. It did continuous recording for 24-72 hours over a weekend and then stopped when the disk was full.
