durable and sharp looking
This is nice stainless product. I used on the tailgate of my trailer and it is not rusting and looks sharp on the tailgate.

It's Stainless, not Aluminum
I don't know what the negative reviews are all about. These are definitely made of stainless steel; they are too heavy to be made of aluminum. Neither side is painted, but both sides do have a protective plastic coating that easily peels off. I see no scratches or grain. They are a bit thick for 20-gauge, actually in between 19 and 20-gauge. The description says .040, which probably is correct. The edges and corners are sharp (not uncommon for sheet metal), so be careful when handling them. They were shipped inside a tight-fitting bubble bag that was inside a paper bag. No harm was done during shipping & handling.

Not a lot you can brag up on two sheets of stainless steel but I want you to know that you can count on them arriving in flawless condition. They were shipped fast and arrived in perfect condition exceedingly well protected. They are high quality 304 stainlessTwo Thumbs Up -- Strongly Recommend!

19.5 gauge thick (0.04") Stainless 304 plate -- high quality
304 Stainless Steel Sheets, 8" x 4" x 0.04" Inch Stainless Steel PlatesThese plates of stainless steel are fairly STIFF and not easily bendable without the proper tools. I used a metal bending brake tool for the 90 degree elbow shown in the photo; and even with that tool, it took some effort. Holes were drilled for the stainless attaching screws using a drill press and standard HSS drill bit. (The very bottom of that vinyl fence post was being gouged by a gate wheel scraping against it. This plate protects that area.) These pieces are harder than cold steel, but not as hard as some stainless products. The pieces I received are 1/16" less (each way) than 4" x 8". A protected film protects each side during shipping and handling. Try to buy these in the exact size needed as cutting this material is not easy.

NOT MAGNETIC AT ALL
This is an alloy of some sort. Cannot be used for magnetic purposes. Wish that had been stated by seller.
