Shaving mug soap
This is the old fashioned soap that had been used for years. It has the odor of the soap your grandpa used to use.

Stan's Review:
This is soap. What can you say. As soap, it makes leather, cleans, and allows you to shave. Basically it is very similar to Ivory abut it does seem to shave a bit better than the Burma Shave mug soap I found at Albertson's Food Store. Soap is soap, though.

STOP!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!
Please understand, this mug soap is supposed to be a collector's item. The reason it is no longer made it's because the final iteration of the soap was completely ineffective at lathering and protecting during a shave. It is therefore unusable. If you are hoping to purchase this product because the smell should remind you of what your father or grandfather shaved with, that will not work as the soap is too old to still carry a sent. Anyone hoping to purchase this as a collector's item please know you can easily find older samples and more collectible samples for about 15% of what is being charged here.I honestly have no idea what the seller is thinking. I have been a wet shaver for over a decade, have plenty of experience and know what I'm talking about enough to know that this offer is exceptionally odd and entirely unfair. I did not purchase this product and have never done business with this seller before. This review is based entirely upon the listing of one puck of Colgate mug soap for $24.

Way too expensive
I was hoping this was for a dozen. $24.95 would be fair for TWELVE of these. I used to use this stuff years and years ago and really like it. I quit only because I can't find it anywhere. The product itself gets five stars. The greedy seller can go kick rocks.

Adequate
As a coarse-bearded person, I have found this product requires generous lathering to be serviceable. Expect to relather multiple times during your shave. If purchasing a comercial shaving soap, I would recommend you search for one that at least advertises a glycerin base. This soap feels as if there is little (if any) glycerin, let alone clay. Colgate's website has no information available. There are many handmade soaps available via E-Bay that are far superior to this.

It works!!!
This cream does what it does. It helps lubricate you skin so you can shave hair off. While I would much rather have cream in a can, if you don't like aresol, this is probably the product for you.Buy it from a can or a mug, it doesn't make much difference.
