Q: Can someone with an r5 or r6 verify if the camera recognizes these as lpe6nh and the h+ drive mode works correctly with mechanical shutter?

Yes, it works fine in eos R5. Battery info in camera says lp-E6NH. Shot all day yesterday and got 800+ shots on Canon battery and same on BM battery (neither battery was drained fully). My lens/card supports white H+ and no difference Canon or BM. I used mostly mechanical and some electronic shutter - both okay.

Q: how do these batteries compare to canon ones ? does it hold charge equal to canons ?

I have used these batteries in my canon R5 camera as backups to the canon batteries. Based on limited use they seem to be closey equivalent to the canon batteries. I have ordered a second set of these as I am satisfied with performance and price

These batteries appear too work just like the original Canon battery on Canon EOS R5, they show both the remaining capacity and shutter count like the original battery does.

Q: How reliable is bm batteries?

I've used these batteries for years on my Nikon and Canon cameras. They are excellent.
