Bought as an emergency sump pump to cope with recent floods, as drains were overrun and blocked. Took a bit of setting up to make sure that the float switch didn't foul, but after that was fixed it's run very well. Not sure if the flow is quite as high as advertised - but I've got it attached to 25m of hose and it emptied by 1m3 sump in roughly 10 seconds - so fast in fact that I needed to drill extra holes in the plastic liner I used to line the sump to stop excess grit working through. The pump has handled debris of various sorts well too and has a decent length of power cable too.

Easy to set up and a good flow rate.

Incredible flow rate, emptied a huge swimming pool in no time at all. Karcher quality is second to none. Highly recommended, don't be tempted by inferior, cheaper pumps, you get what you pay for.

Good for using on our patio.

Trying to empty a pool - won’t pump last 10 inches of water up 6 feet. Not as good as expected and no better than basic screwfix pump. Overall very disappointed

The Karcher is a well known German make that has a well established reputation for many types of consumer machines, including pressure washers, cleaning machines, as well as pumps. After eleven years in his father's company, Alfred Kärcher sets up his own company in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt in 1935.The SP 16,000 submersible pump is a worthy addition to the range of pumps available. It's especially suitable for draining flooded areas, such as basements, wet rooms and will exhaust water down to a level of 1mm on a flat surface. THis makes it just ideal for areas that can be finished off with a mop and bucket.The pump has a neat filter option that allows me to use for clean water on a flat floor and also for dirty water, perhaps from a pond or ditch, without disturbing the pump efficiency. I can change this setting manually without any tools, by adjusting the base of the suction plate.I like the well designed and tested option of using the included float switch to turn the pump off at low level, and back on again once the water level has been recovered to a set level. THis has a crude but effective adjustment, by simply lengthening or shortening the float switch cable.The pump can't be used for continuous use, such as for a fountain, or constant recirculation and should also not be used dry. However it can self vent any trapped air and will effectively self prime when immersed in water.The external materials are all plastic, but well formed and cast with no sharp extrusions or bad fitting ports. The kit comes with adaptors for attaching hoses of different sizes to the exhaust port. IN addition, Karcher have a ange of ready made hoses available for ready made fitments.An excellent pump, it works flawlessly and once primed an operating works quietly and effectively to pump large volumes of water, clean or dirty. This is a mains driven pump and comes complete with a very long power lead and a moulded 13amp UK mains plug fitted to the end. Recommended.

This is a quality product as expected from Karcher - being a long time user of their pressure washers you are guaranteed excellent performance and quality with their products and this water pump is no exception.Out of the box I found the setup pretty simple. Everything feels well made and the quick connect feels solid and worked effortlessly without leaks.For a small unit it's pretty powerful and you have the option of dirty water mode which can filter water with up to 20mm particles or in the flat mode it can take the water level down to 1mm. With the included float switch you can leave the pump to work in automatic mode which means it will turn on when the water gets to a certain level and then drain until the desired level.I personally used it after our washing machine overfilled and leaked out onto the garage floor leaving a big area covered in water. The Karcher made short work of this and took it down to next to nothing which then allowed me to mop up the remaining water. Job done perfectly.Overall a versatile pump with many possible applications.5 stars - reccomended!
