Might be Amazon’s choice— not mine.
It blows air but barely cools room. After 2 hrs venting via a through wall temp is up 1 degree. Not sure what the purpose of the auto is when it doesn’t effectively cool the air. Bought for bedroom ..it’s noisy on low. Little differentiation in fan speed and noise so no idea when using remote. Remote is redundant except for on/off. Just can’t see what it operates as no led indication on remote and unit’s controls are on the top so have to use air con manually. Also you need a light to see the unit’s control display in the dark as there’s just blue light dots. And yes, the pipe is short and is too heavy for the flimsy window kit if it’s high up. Very disappointed but on the plus side …it’s cheap.

great performance, amazing price
I purchased 12k BTU version and use it to cool down 30sqm living room with open staircase leading up and down. It was wishful thinking to try to cool down that size of a room with such a small unit but it managed to do it.Pros:- really, really cheap - you'd struggle finding something for that price- build quality is decent - nothing very nice, nothing ugly. Just plastic all over it but it doesn't look like it would fall appart soon.- remote controller is a nice touch- colling power is amazing. I got it to replace a top range unit that died the other day (similar parameters). It does as good job as the other one for third the price. It managed to keep my living room at 24C while the outdoor temperature was 30C. I was not expecting such a good performance for that price.- it's much smaller and lighter than I was expecting - I'd say almost half the size of my other AC. No idea how they managed to pack all components into such a small package.- others complaint about noise level. Well, you have a compressor running in your room, it won't be quet. I can confirm it's absolutely manageble and as lout as my other unit. It's just the nature of that component.Cons:- duct - just do yourself a favour, bin it, buy an insulated duct. So much heat escapes via that thin plastic duct that you're just drasticaly decreasing it's performance. You'd need to do some sort of modifications to attach a different duct to the mounting parts (I 3d printed an addapter). If you decide to keep the original pipe, keep in mind it's very short and constantly deattaches from the mounting part due to heat. In other words just rubbish. If you can't do mods, just buy a diecent duct with thicker walls and wrapp it in wet towels if you can.- I have concerns about safety - the mains cable and plug get really hot. It triggered my thermal breaker a couple of times after 4h of use. Nothing major has happened but I don't feel comfortable leaving it unattended.I can't comment on energy usage as I didn't measure it yet. The spec states it's 1KW/h. If you run it on full power you are then looking at about 25 pence per hour.Summary: I am very happy with it. It looks cheap, there are some corner cuttings, but it does the job very well and the price is unbeatable. If it would last a couple of hot summers I would be happy to buy another one when it dies.

works well
Why did you choose this product over others?:bought this to cool the room to keep my marine tank from overheating, tank was up at 30°c and should be at 25°c, worked well room is now down to as low as 20°c if if want it that low, air coming out of the air con when set at 16°c was a cool 6°c.

Excellent little unit worth every penny.
Heaven, cracking item wish I had bought one years ago. Very simple to set up with easy to follow instructions, appears to cost about 0.16p per hour to run at full tilt. The only caution I would give is that altho marked portable its very heavy and as a pensioner I had no chance of moving it upstairs on my own luckily I had a strapping young neighbour to assist. Apart from that I am thrilled with it.

Massive noise but little cooling power
Best avoided, much less powerful than my existing 9000 btu air-conditioning unit but it's meant to be 12000 !!!???, also it's noisy like a kango hammer and not what I would call portable. So heavy the packaging is marked 'team lift'. And lastly company really snotty about returns. Total waste of time.

Bought the wrong one
I wrote a good review last year. However, now it needs a clean, you can only remove a sliding filter, which is fine, but you cannot access inside coils with can get bunged up with greasy dust. Plenty of utube demos. This one has about 20 screws to remove then one hell of a job to remove back to clean coils, in fact I spent hours trying. I contacted the Customer Service Dept. for advice as I didn't want to break it. They were useless, with no knowledge of their own product. I'm told to send an email to manager, which they then ignored. Very angry.I have a larger one, a different make which is easy to clean coils, and filter. An extremely bad design, with no thought of maintenance. I see online other people have ended up with similar frustrating machines. All air conditioners need a clean once a year at least.

Not too noisy
Easy to setup and use, not that noisy - it's an air conditioner unit so it will make a noise, but on low it's similar to a big fan on full speed. My only complaint is the length of the exhaust pipe (but all the A/C units seem to come with short pipes) - I've had to put it on top of a chest of drawers in order to reach the window to vent the unit properly. Unusually, it comes with nylon fabric shields & velcro tape so that you can seal the opening around the open window and this seems to work pretty well. I bought a similar one last year and this one was £100 cheaper (but looks the same & has the same remote, just a different brand name and didn't have the nylon seals) so really happy with our purchase
