This brand has proven to be the most reliable, over many years of dressmaking and household sewing. I always keep a good stock of reels.Post -Brexit, it may be difficult to find a suitable alternative that is not manufactured in the EU: the cost of this preferred brand is becoming prohibitive and I suspect import charges could be the cause, not the retailer, as prices are much the same everywhere.

Only ever use gutermann thread as it doesn't break or tangle. These 1000m reels are excellent value. Wish there was a wider range of colours this size.

This thread works well for me. It's not cheap, I can buy an alternative one locally at less than half the price for the same length of thread, but my sewing machine prefers this one. It frays less, breaks less, I have to re-thread far less often etc. Good thread.

Guttermann is a good reliable thread without breaking. You pay a bit more, but in the long run better for my sewing.
