Why did you pick this product vs others?:Great item that does not break. You must be careful when jamming this in ice but I enjoy the more green approach to traditional plastic straws. The straws have a different texture but nothing major. The straw does not dissolve or become warmed in liquid, even after several days.

The media could not be loaded. These sugarcane straws have become one of my favorite travel hacks. If you’ve been to resorts in Mexico, Costa Rica, or the Caribbean lately, you already know ... plastic straws are mostly gone, and what’s offered instead (if anything) is often those paper ones that go limp halfway through your drink. I know a lot of people pack reusable metal straws when they travel, but I’m just not that person. I lose things constantly, and I really don’t love the idea of cleaning straws while I’m in a place where the tap water isn’t potable. Plus, I don’t want to spend half my vacation rinsing gunk out of a straw. Enter these compostable sugarcane straws ... total game-changer. I take a handful with me on every trip. They’re super lightweight, totally guilt-free, and I can toss them after using without any waste anxiety. They don’t get soggy like paper, and they hold up just fine for cocktails, smoothies, iced coffee ... you name it.I even use them at home now. They’re great in cold drinks, and even hold up surprisingly well in warm ones (I use them for matcha lattes around 150–160°F with no issue). They can warp a bit if you go hotter than that, so I wouldn’t use them for boiling liquids - but that’s expected with any plant-based straw.

I like that I can use these straws without guilt because they're made of biodegradable materials! They're not flimsy and don't get grossly soggy like paper straws. If you make espresso-based drinks at home, though, don't add the straw into your cup while the liquid's hot! I poured hot espresso into a cup with the straw before adding in ice, and the heat of the espresso melted the straw lol. Otherwise, great straws that don't make me miss the plastic ones!

great idea, and they’re great for cold drinks, but the claim that they work for hot drinks is bogus. they melt immediately.

Ordered these for a pool party and they were a hit! I hate using plastic products and figured I would try these. They held up amazing in our cold drinks and had zero taste. Definitely recommend!

I got these for my morning (let’s be honest, all day) coffees. I like that it can be used for hot drinks and it appears to be biodegradable. The fibers are strong and can handle being in drinks, unlike paper straws, but when I’m done I put them in my compost pile and the fibers seem to break down fairly easy. Also good to use as a stirrer since it can handle heatEdit. Don’t leave it in the cup while your coffee is dripping into it. Put the straw in after. It kinda just melted down. I learned that while rushing around one morning. No big deal though. My coffee wasn’t ruined and I just grabbed another one
