The Classic Italian Rainbow Cakebites are my new favourite food. I've ordered them twice so far, and the second time I did, I had them opened and a cakebite was in my mouth before the delivery truck had even pulled out of the driveway. Maybe I sound like a real gluttonous pig, but it's true. That means, 4 or 12 individually wrapped packages, and each of the packages contains 3 of the little square cakebites they show in the photos. (So, if you get a pack of 4, you get 12 cakebites total, and if you get a pack of 12, you will be getting 36 cakebites total, so on and so forth.) The most recent order I placed arrived July 18th, and the cakebites I received have a stamped best by date of Nov 20th, of the same year (to give you an idea of the shelf life.)I don't know much about Italian desserts, but I can tell you that as someone with a German heritage, these things are right up my alley. They taste more like a traditional German or Dutch food to me than anything else I've found on Amazon. Incredible strong almond-y, marzipan tasting cake, with a thin chocolate coating. The cakes I've received have been moist and fresh. Make sure if you order them in the summer and live in a hot area, to rescue your shipment from the outside heat right away when they arrive to prevent the chocolate and sprinkles from melting and deforming the cakes. (Don't worry- they still taste amazing if they're deformed or mashed.) Seriously, my new favourite dessert and snack food.

Whoever created these Italian Rainbow cakes for Cakebites deserves prison time. They need to be locked away, as punishment for creating what is easily the most addictive cakes to ever exist. It starts with just a bite. Three layers of moist almond cake, sandwiched between decadent raspberry jam, enveloped in rich chocolate, and topped with sprinkles. Words simply can't describe how amazing every bite is. It's addictive.Cakebites need to be on some sort of controlled substance list, with a limit on the number of packs you can buy in a given time period. Because after you enjoy the first pack, you realize that there are 11 more packs, calling out to you. Stick them in the back of the cupboard. Hide them in the pantry. Convince yourself that a 12 pack will last you at least a few weeks. At first you start to tell yourself "I can just eat one of the little cakes, and save the other two in the pack for later." By day three, you're convincing yourself that you can simply order another box, so it doesn't matter how many you consume. And there's Amazon, calmly asking you "How much you gonna need this time?" It's a maddening spiral of tasty bliss.Truthfully, I can't help you, I am only here to enable you. If you've never tried Italian Rainbow cakes before, you'll be mind-blown at how delicious they are. Especially if you're fond of sweets, cookies or pastries that are almond-flavored. Order a box of 12, I promise you'll be amazed.

YUM! Just a good as I expected, very fresh and moist, and I will buy these again! Better price than in an Italian bakery and just as good.
