The Torticollis TOT Collar is a loop of soft PVC tubing bridged by two short nylon tubes. The nylon tubes are positioned anterior and posterior to the crest of the trapezius and the PVC tubing is fastened with a connecting strap. The Torticollis TOT Collar is non-toxic and washable. Designed as a treatment for Congenital Muscular Torticollis, the TOT Collar is a simple, effective and inexpensive therapy to correct head position and prevent further health problems. It is used for infant torticollis as well as for older patients. When combined with stretching of the muscle, The Torticollis TOT Collar offers better results for torticollis than stretching alone. The Torticollis TOT Collar is designed to provide a noxious stimulant to the lateral aspect of the skull for those with congenital muscular torticollis. The wearer then moves away from this stimulus to a new, normal central corrected position. Adoption of a new, normal position provides the ability to reset perception of horizontal and maintain the corrected head position.
