New to French Press, but old friends with coffee
I'm definitely not a french press connoisseur, as some of these people seem to be. I've been cranking up an old Keurig Vue for the last six years or so, washing out my reusable pod and stuffing new coffee into it every day. Living in the mountains as I am, we recently got hit with a snow storm and lost power for the better part of a week. No big deal, coffee is still on. Fire up the wood stove, boil water, pour it over coffee in a filter over a mug. All good. But it wasn't just all good. It was THE BEST coffee ever. That's when I thought "doesn't french press work like this?"My adventure began. I scoured Amazon for french presses, pulling up the ones with the highest review ratings and reading everything I could. Glass was breakable, even when one thinks himself gentle. Glass doesn't retain heat. But ooh look, pretty. Metal is vacuum sealed, heat retaining, and *durable*. I spent hours looking at metal french presses, disregarding glass as too fragile. The color flaked off of most of the lovely copper or patina presses. The vacuum seal broke on others. Defects happened and companies didn't respond or provide contact info.Time and again I kept coming back to this company. Initially their company symbol drew me to the pot, cause oooh, pretty. But the more I read the reviews on them, the more I saw the maker (Starizzo/CopperCrate) responding to the poor reviews and reaching out to make things right or answer questions. Further more, the poor reviews seemed to be easily fixed, or just someone griping because this particular french press didn't have a second scratch of metal laying perpendicular to the solar plexus of the venus sky like their *other one*. Or something stupid. So I ordered it. And I'm glad I did. Being new to french press, I was intimidated at first by the 3 filters, but they're not rocket science. They're easy to clean, just rinse and towel off to remove any coffee oil. The inside of the pot is the same, rinse and towel off. Operating the french press is a breeze. I set some water to boil in a kettle and walk away. When it just starts to do the pre-boil squeak, I pour it over my coffee. I do about 1/4c coffee grounds for half a pot. I grab something to stir with, set the lid, push the press down just enough to help seal in the heat, and walk away to do one of the many demanding tasks of parenthood. I think it's usually four minutes, but who knows.Anyway, the pressing part is really fun. You press slowly (bearing in mind other reviews who got over zealous and shot coffee all over their kitchens), just let the weight of your hand sink the knob down. And then that's it. Fresh, hot, lovely coffee, without a single grind in the brew. Some of my coffee was fine grind and I didn't get any grinds in my cup.Does it stay hot? I think, yes. Not using boiling hot water to begin with, I'll make the coffee, walk away for a time, come back and pour some, then take off to do whatever. Like write this review while sipping on a glorious cup of wake up juice. When I go back for more, it's still hot. No, it's not as hot as it was when I first poured it, but don't you people own microwaves? I'm kind of taken aback that this is actually an area of concern for people. Like come on, we live in an era of technology. Get a hot plate designed for coffee mugs, microwave the rest of the coffee, put the rest in a pot on the stove if you have to and keep it on low while you shower/brush your teeth/water your garden in your underwear.Anyway. I'm glad I purchased this, it works great and I thoroughly enjoy it. And I have peace of mind knowing that the manufacturer is there for me if, but some chance, something goes wrong. Win win win :)

Peeling Finish after a few months, now leaking!
EDIT: Just a few weeks after writing this review, the bottom of the french press started leaking. No idea how this happened. It has never been dropped or roughly handled. It's just very poorly made.I purchased this less than a year ago, and I already have to buy a new one. The peeling started after just a few months and now (roughly 9 months later) it's just too ugly to keep on the counter. We have been handwashing it with dish soap and hot water, so it's not from the dishwasher. The construction is actually good aside from the rattle inside the insulated portion that I assume is something loose that got sealed in during production. If this company makes stainless versions, it might be good because the build quality it decent, but their finish is just plain awful. My last French press lasted me 10 years and looked new the whole time (until it was dropped and broke), so I'm very disappointed.

After buying this amazing and stylish french press i can't be happier
I got sick and tired of buying a glass french press only to have them accidentally break a few weeks later. After buying this amazing and stylish french press i can't be happier. It keeps the temperature nice and hot long after coffee was brewed. This press has a nice sleek look and silky finish. It holds pretty good volume of water without being too bulky. My husband and I enjoying it every morning while drinking our coffee! Highly recommend!!!

Its ok as a coffee maker. It dont retain heat much though
Its a very nice coffee maker. Solid. My only complaint is it didn't retain the heat past 20 minutes. Great buy if you want a french press, just don't expect that it will keep your coffee hot for an hour. I know that you can turn the lid to close the ventilation to retain the heat, but it doesn't really help at all. I am trying to put a cork on it maybe it can stop the heat from escaping.

Beautiful but doesn't keep coffee hot as advertised: insulated
It's beautiful, serves several cups at once and is pretty easy to clean...but it doesn't keep the coffee hot. In my mind, insulated meant keeping beverage warm - but it didn't specify hours of warmth rating which I probably should have noted. If serving several people at once, this is perfect. If sipping coffee alone and wanting another hot cup from same pot...this is not that system. It is nice product

Awesome product
So easy and the coffee tastes so good I don’tPut milk or sugar in it anymore. Put hot water and coffee let it sit. Press the filter down and you have coffee. Works without electricity. Great for camping too
