Works as I had hoped!
My Lab has had scooting issues for the past several months. Our vet said we could continue to have her anal glands expressed (sorry..) but that trying a supplement could possibly help her as well. Admittedly, outside of dog food I wasn't familiar with any of the supplement brands. However, I saw a few different supplement items for the Superior Pet brand as I was searching. So, I bought it around 2 weeks ago. Around 1 week after giving these to my dog her scooting has completely stopped. Beyond thankful! The product has worked as well as I could have hoped for - thanks!!

Has alot of ingredients & wasn't good for my dog
My 1 dog has had problems with anal gland issues, & we typically go to the vet every 1-2 months to have them expressed. With our previous dog, we went to a holistic vet & he told us the anal gland issues are due to an inflammation in the dogs body. Canned pumpkin works & this product does contain pumpkin, but it also contains alot of other ingredients as well, so be sure to review the entire label before giving to your pet. I tried 2 times to give my dog these, & she threw up each time. I had only given her 1/2 a chew to start. Not sure what was in the ingredients that made her sick? No other treats were given at the time, & my dog is on a limited diet because she has sensitivities, so I'm 99% sure these chews didn't agree with her.Inactive ingredients include: Dried brewers yeast & Dried potato product, so be sure if your dog has any allergies or sensitivities, that they are ok with those ingredients. Not all anal gland supplements include those.

Pricey; questionable results
Seems like most of these chews are fillers -- basically brewer's yeast, dried potato product, some tapioca starch too. A drop of salmon oil probably to make it palatable. But supposedly a small portion of it is made from a blend of beet pulp, flaxseed, and psyllium husk. Again, my guess is that it's mostly psyllium husk. And an even smaller, minuscule portion of these contain pumpkin powder (8 MG) per chew. I'm not sure that the active ingredients in these soft chews (which actually resemble dried kibble more than a soft chew) justify the cost they are charging for this bottle. For the price, you'd think they'd also add probiotics to improve your dog's digestive function. And you're supposed to give 1 chew for every 20 lbs of dog weight, twice daily. So an 80 lb dog could easily go through this whole bottle in 15 DAYS!You are probably better off buying a can of pumpkin to mix (in moderation) with Rover's dog food or sprinkling metamucil fiber (same as psyllium husk) over your dog's dinner. While the chew form in this product provides a convenient form to feed your dog, (and given that my picky dog does seem willing to eat it), it seems that the health benefits from this product are attenuated at best.

Since taking this chew, our dog has not scooted--not once
We have a miniature schnauzer and our vet showed us how to express his anal (scent) glands. The implication was that we should be aware that these glands exist and should know how to express the glands if necessary. So, yes, our little guy scoots every now and then. It's not a constant thing, but it gives us concern--both for the dog and our expensive carpets.....And we live in an area with a lot of wildlife, so we wonder if maybe coming into contact with all those animal scents causes our dog to produce more of his own? Just guessing here....But the important point in this review: Since taking this chew--almost a month now, our dog has not scooted once. And he loves the taste, and considers it a treat. Our dog is only 9 pounds, so we cut the chews in half. And give him a piece in the morning and a piece in the evening.Hey, I'd much rather give him these chews, than express those glands!

Superior Pet Scoot Stopper Plus Pumpkin
I didn't notice any difference for our foster dog using this product. I am assuming that the product is supposed to help firm up your dog's stool enough the express the anal glands during each bowel movement, since soft stool is often a contributor to anal gland issues and scooting (soft stool doesn't express glands, leading to full and impacted glands, irritation and eventually even abscessing -scooting expresses full glands).Sometimes we address fiber issues with unsalted green beans and/or pumpkin (pumpkin also adds weight) if for temporary situations, but usually we transition to a new food that is higher fiber (such as with beet pulp and or chicory) for long term solutions. Firm compact stool will help express anal glands and prevent issues, or at least delay instances for dogs prone to scooting related issues. Unfortunately, options are more limited for dogs on soft diets than dogs on kibble, for correcting by food choice alone. These may be more effective for dogs on a soft diet.

Tassty Treat but Nothing Else Noticeable
These chews are certainly easy to administer. the dogs all like them. dosage is one chew per twenty pounds of dog twice a day. Comprised primarily of fiber (Psyllium husk, beet pulp and flaxseed ) it also contains dandelion and pumpkin powder. Inactive ingredients include brewer's yeast and salmon oil. we only have one dog in the household, my brother's shih tzu, who occasionally scoots. he is vet cleared so he doesn't have worms or any medical issues. He ate the treat happily but then again he does love food, any food. but I can't say I've noticed any difference in his behaviour or elimination. On the positive side he didn't get gassy or have loose stools. I haven''t seen him scooting but then again he only did that occasionally. The supplement itself seems fine and the dog enjoyed it. It may very well support the anal glands. But I have observed nothing so far that would indicate it is anything other than a tasty treat.
