Klarstein Tenderloin 50/50 Raclette - Table Grill, Party Grill, 1200 W, 1 Wooden Spatula, Non-stick Coating, 4 pans, Free Positioning - Metal and Granite Plate

I will break down my review of this product into specific points which may be of use.REASON FOR PURCHASEThis was purchased for the holiday period to provide a fun dining experience for guests.DELIVERYThe item was received early after connecting the company direct to flag the order.CUSTOMER SERVICEI have to say interaction and indeed response times were better BEFORE purchase; however, I contacted the company to flag see concerns via Amazon contact the seller, and I am still waiting for a response. An acknowledgement was received to satisfy Amazon's timelines, however this message said they were busy and would be in touch shortly, so I am still waiting.PROS------1. The articulated design offers flexibility as to how you want to layout your table with the raclette, as it can be positioned in a block style (with the two grills parallel to each other), lengthwise (with each grill next to each other from the hinge end) and finally at around 45 to 120 degree angle (with each grill fanned out from the hinge).2. A nice concept for four people to enjoy an indoor grilled food experience.3. This particular model is available in various options where you can have a grill plate and ceramic stone, or two of the same type of top plate. I chose to have a 50/50 model to experience both options.CONS-------1. The grill does not heat adequately to really deliver on the raclette experience. My guests were fed up waiting and took to the hob as the 600 watts (despite preheating) struggled to cook ANYTHING in a reasonable time scale, and we did try!!! I prepared tiger prawns, mini venison sausages, chicken in various rubs/seasonings, tuna, ostrich and various vegetables with lots of cheeses. We found even the prawns and tuna were not cooking on either the grill plate or the stone. Finally, one guest asked to use the hob as there was a concern of under-cooking on the grill. Even the grill trays struggled to melt the cheeses.2. The power cord was too short, so this meant I could not position the grill in a guest friendly way even using an extension lead. The cord is way too short for positioning on any table. This cord would probably work, if used on a kitchen worktop with under cabinet plugs, but this is not the essence of a raclette, which is a shared cooking experience!3. There is no temperature control on this model, which I cannot say it would have helped as it just did NOT heat up enough to cook anyways. However, one heat for everything is not really ideal.4. The design could be better as we kept finding as there was no edge to the grill plate or stone, that food kept falling off the grill. The grill area is not so large, so with different things cooking and four people at play, some sort of edge plate would have been better for the design.5. Both the grill plate and stone were not at all non-stick, so very quickly they blame "caked" in the food being cooked, and of course once hot you cannot remove to clean. Ultimately, I was literally dreading the clean-up, and opted to soak both plates to clean them up.CONCLUSION----------------I have to say that I do feel disappointed with this raclette as I was truly looking forward to this experience, having enjoyed raclette dining in France. That said, this device is not nearly powerful enough to cook in this way, and I can see the other models available seem to be of higher wattage (i.e. 1200 watts plus).My dinner party was "sunk" with this raclette, as despite having a variety of meats, fish and vegetables, the device took far too long to cook ANYTHING. The power cord was really short, which meant I could not set the grill up so it could be easily accessed by all, and I was just thankful I had an extension lead available as what I did do would not have been possible.I contacted Klarstein via Amazon's contact to seek their input but I have not had a direct response, as they have simply acknowledged the contact within the Amazon timespan. The device could be faulty in relation to the grill heat, however the other main issue of the power cord is still a problem. I am therefore going to return the item as it does not work in the desired way, and as I say I do feel disappointed.I do not recommend this particular device as there was no joy in our raclette experience given the heat issue, and the power cord is way too short. The concept is good and the articulated design is clever and convenient, but sadly the two earlier points are major issues.I had hoped to speak to the company beforehand, but as stated I have not heard back as yet.

Necesitaba una raclette porque quería prepararla en casa, y me ha resultado muy útil, no me ocupa mucho espacio, es para 4 personal, y siendo nosotros solo dos, nos vino muy bien. Las había más grandes pero esta estaba más que suficiente para nosotros. Me gusta que cada lado se pueda encender o apagar por separado.

Schöner kleiner Raclette-Grill für 4 normale oder 2 hungrige Personen. Lässt sich passend zur Tisch- und Sitzsituation hin- und herklappen. Hitze passt für Pfännchen und Stein / Grill gleichermaßen. Holzspatel sind mit dabei. Hälften lassen sich separat einschalten.
