TOPO ATHLETIC Men 's Magnifly 3

I am no longer a runner but the Magnifly has quickly become my everyday go-to shoe for comfort. I have spent years experimenting with different athletic shoes that might relieve the discomfort of Hallux Limitus and/or Hallux Rigidus. Both issues are similar to a bunion, except the bump is on top of the big toe joint instead of the side. Until recently I was in Hoka One One models with late-stage rockers (Gaviota, Stinson) and I was relatively satisfied. The late-stage rocker helped relieve the discomfort of 'rolling over' the joint. But Hokas are infamous for squeezing toes in their narrow toe-boxes, which I have personally experienced. And after all, it's often too-tight toe-boxes that lead to Hallux in the first place. The Topo Magnifly are different in several ways. First, where the heel-to-forefoot drop is 5mm on most Hokas, the Magnifly is a zero drop shoe. At times it reminds me of Earth Shoes from back in the day, except the heel is not negative like an Earth Shoe, and thus feels less severe and smoother in the gate than E.S. Second, the metatarsal rocker is more sweeping and gradual than those in the Hokas. I find this much more comfortable than the more sudden & pronounced Hoka rockers. Third, the Topo toe-box is wide enough to accommodate my toes without squishing them. They are similar to Altras in that way, except whenever I looked down at Altras on my feet, they looked to me like big lollipops. I would say the Topo is somewhere in the middle between Hoka and Altra in the toe-box and that works great for me. My Magniflys are still relatively new and it's difficult to project how long they will last. But I must say, with their less-stacked heels and mesh uppers, the Topo Magnifly doesn't feel as durable over the long haul. Nevertheless, I love this shoe and I am in them for life from now on, or until something even better comes along. I only wish I had discovered the Magnifly before my last trip to Europe with all that walking.

Use these shoes for daily fit walks. Have worn this style before, but the pair I received ran small. Not true to size.

Took a chance on these since they were just enough cheaper than my favorite Altra Escalante 2. Good shoe, but not as flexible as the Altra. Very disappointed at the price point when they arrived with a made in China tag. Not likely to buy again.

Nice room in the toe box, hugged the ankle well, and fit nice. However, the cushion was way too soft. Says zero drop, but sure feels like it has a drop. Maybe if I only weighed 120 lbs but I do not. Had to send them back.

Great for the first six months, then the tread started to peel away from the bottom of the shoe. Originally 5 stars, now just a meh 3 stars.

I am now on my second pair of Magnifly 3's. I had to retire the first pair after I wore them out. I run 5 miles a day and these shoes have held up well and remained comfortable. with soft smooth soles they have been good on the canal banks. I have been pleasantly surprised and will likely be ordering a third pair soon.

I wear 10.5 in Brooks and Altra. The Topo was too small. Had to return for 11's

Nice looking running shoe and has good reviews overall, so I took a chance and ordered a pair. The good- great colors; -medium shade blue- good looking shoe; very light. The problem: - for me- not enough support all around and a little too narrow despite ordering a wide. One foot was too tight with my toes being squeezed together a bit. I'm 6'5 @ 230 so I require a lot of support, especially in the back heel impact area. This shoe just did not provide the support and cushion for my impact. The sole and heel area is just a little to thin in materials imo, at least for someone my size.

I really like the shape of the toebox on the shoes but there’s not enough room in the tie box to put an orthotic in the shoe, unfortunately. Otherwise they seem like excellent shoes and I was really really hoping that I could wear them.
