Protects your charging cables, puncture repair kit, first aid kit and the like from the elements. The problem with the storage under the front bonnet is that in wet weather, its not fully water tight. This allows you to store the quite large amounts of extra stuff a BMW i3 needs without it getting wet. It looks like a crate in the photo, but it folds like a Doctor's bag to provide a seal that will keep the rain and dirt out. The material is a heavy rubberised textile of some sort - kind of floppy and softer than I'd have expected. On the negative side, it is a little pricey for a bag, but it is design for a specific purpose in one specific car. Inside is a divider that you have to fold to fit in. Doing this the first time was awkward as it needs aligning with velco strips which catch as you are trying to install. However, once installed it holds the puncture repair kit in a nice place and provides some slots to put in bottles of stuff your car likes to drink. I think it's rather cheap of BMW to not include these as standard.

Superb product. Feels really good quality, fits like a glove and holds the charging cables and sundry accessories perfectly. Other reviewers are on saying BMW should provide this with the car: I agree it would be a lovely touch but don't think about what might have been and instead purchase this now... you will be so happy you did!! It is the best matched accessory I have ever bought for any car... 5 stars out of 5.

No complaints about the bag other than the fact that it's necessary and not included, but I would like to confirm that the cable section can take a 7.5m three phase 32A charging cable if you are careful with your coil size. I doubt it could take a bigger cable (though you may be lucky with a 10m single phase 32A cable).

I’m resentful that BMW think it’s acceptable to have a front boot/trunk (please don’t call it a frunk, ugh!) that isn’t sealed against the elements.The product itself is very strong and very well made. It’s a (no alternative) must have for i3 users

As many other people have commented, this really should be included with the car as standard as the little under-bonnet storage area in the i3 is not weather proof. That said, this bag fits the space perfectly and closes securely with a velcro strap. I managed to fit the tyre inflation kit, fast charge cable, occasional use cable, some de-icer and my warning triangle inside without any issues.

Fits the front trunk perfectly. It is robust and is effective at keeping water out. I agree with other reviewers that this is pretty much an essential purchase for i3 owners. Quite why BMW did not fit a waterproof lid to the compartment is a mystery to me!

Brilliant item which is designed for the job. Fits neatly and takes everything that you have in the frunk.

Perfect, although I feel the i3 should have come with this in the first place.I have however removed the divider so that I can fit more in.
