The information seems solid enough. The problem is that the book has grammatical mistakes and needs editing. Also, the information is condensed into one-sentence or two-sentence bullet points. This might be a stylistic choice to keep the information clear, but it would help to have more diagrams to put concepts into context along with that. The few diagrams that exist were obviously exported from Power Point or Word and aren’t that illuminating.Also, the author talks about “updates” in which he spent the “previous four weeks” adding “seventy more chapters”, and I had no idea what the author was talking about.It’s obvious this book was derived from a set of Power Point slides by an executive used to communicating in that format. This person really, really needs an editor. It’s not as if the information is wrong. It’s just that the formatting is so odd that it’s dry and distracting, and I have to re-read each sentence multiple times so that all the different bullet points come together in my head into a total picture. It’s a pity because the author really seems to know the subject well.

This book helped me understand all that confusing private equity stuff without making my head hurt. Instead of using fancy Wall Street words, it explains everything about buying companies and making money in a way that actually makes sense. The part about figuring out if a company is worth buying was super helpful, and now I finally get what EBITDA means.

This book contains some good definitions but there are a lot of errors. Grammer, sentences in a paragraph that have nothing to do with the topic, leads to a mistrust of what the author is trying to teach. Don't waste your money on this book.

Stunningly beautiful pictures - and a challenge to learn to do it yourself. It also walks readers through the different kinds of PE firms and how they are different. A very valuable resource.
