The Science Book: Big Ideas Simply Explained Hardcover – 21 July 2014

Useful to discuss if you have kids in primary or secondary school, have had a chance to discuss a couple of topics so far with my 7yr old, need to make it a habit so he learns bit by bit. Useful resource and concepts are summarised and easy to understand with pictures. For a more detailed explanation you would be going for the internet or a more detailed science book.The book covers a vast variety of topics though which is quite good as its easy for a kid to pick it up and readup on a topic for a quick overview.

I don’t know where the good reviews are coming from... I downloaded this on my Kindle and find it hectic to read. It darts from one topic to something irrelevantly different then back to the previous topic over 20 pages; maybe the hardback is different format?Don’t buy this for Kindle.

Love these books. My OH has the psychology one too. Just so interesting to read and can easily flip through and learn something new.

You don't always want to be looking things up on the internet. This is great for a child's reference book, especially for the science mad.

I bought this to my satisfy my grandson’s thirst for knowledge. Upon rifling through the pages I was spurred to buy the paperback version for myself.

I bought for my kids (13 and 9) and I started reading... it is amazing! Well organised, simple to understand and a LOT of information. Very happy. I bought also "The Psycology Book" and it is also good, but I prefer this one.

This "Big Ideas" books are truly amazing. Lots of information explained in a very simple way, specially for people that are interested to learn about a new subject.
