A treat from the East.
Fresh , no sugar, good price, goes well with hot sauce. Nicely and safely packaged with no leakage. Imuse is in salads. Now I’m getting some wasabi to mix with it. I already have soya sauce. Love that combination.

Yuck, flavor is not good and brine has a weird bubbly-burning feeling
I have bought countless jars of sushi ginger, this does not taste right. It tastes like it has turned, and doesn't have the flavor of other jars of ginger we are used to. I am thinking it may be from the aspartame others talk about in the review? I don't know, but if you want ginger like you would get from a sushi restaurant, this ain't it. Straight in the garbage and a waste of money.

Flavor not as enjoyable as other brands
I had had pickled ginger only a few times when visiting sushi restaraunts, so I'm not even an amateur. I was visiting a local grocery store a while back and they had a stack of bottles near the entrance marked down and on an impulse, I picked one up. When I got it home, I tried a bite. It's always kind of shocking when you first taste this stuff; you think you've gotten into some floor cleaner or an old bottle of Jaegermeister. But then a few seconds later your insides go "Oh YEAH! Let's do some MORE!" and you keep nibbling. Well, I nibbled through a whole bottle of stuff before the day was over and my belly suffered a bit from it. But the next time I hit that store, I picked us some more. But then we moved and the new local groceries didn't carry such things. So I hit Amazon and bought this variety, based for the most part on price. Well, I got what I paid for. It's edible. If I was just using it for palette-cleansing it would be sufficient, but I wanted to enjoy its weirdness all on its own and for its own sake. But I couldn't. I finally managed to finish one bottle, but the other has been sitting in our fridge unopened for quite some time now. Sorry. I would not buy this brand again.
