Bought this cheap option hoping it would last for one job, to pump out heating oil from old tank to new tank. It did the job with ease and will probably still be used for others as it is brilliant.Arrived next day and looks a good bit of kit, shiny and gold. Cable tied it to a long cane with about 2 inch of cane jutting just below pump filter to keep it out of the sludge at the bottom of the tank. Taped the hose and wire to the cane at points up to the top of the cane to keep everything neat and functional.Charged an old van battery and there was easily enough cable to reach the battery on the floor once the pump was at the bottom of the tank. Connected the terminals as per, stuck the other end of hose in a 40 gallon barrel and flipped the switch - hey presto the oil came flowing out at a good rate. About 2m rise easily.Easy to manage from there on with the switch. Followed advice and ran for 15 mins - charged battery for 15 and repeated. Filled the barrel two thirds in the 15mins.It won't cope with anything other than water/fuel and generally clean fluids.Once I had got the old tank off and tilted it to pump out the last dregs and sludge the filter soon blocked. Easy to clean, but would be a pain to keep having to do that.So can't fault it, but some will by trying to get it to do a job it's not designed for. Connecting to a battery would be the biggest issue for most, as getting a vehicle close to where you need it may be a pain unless you have a spare loose one to charge.It made a potentially messy and stressful job easier - happy man!

UK purchaser. Just suffered a split in my domestic heating oil tank located in the garden due to old age and recent hot temperatures. I was holding excess £500 of heating oil and this was leaking into the ground. Panic mode set in what do i do. A bit of research and found a second hand tank not too far away for sale then needed to work out how to remove the oil. Looked on Amazon because i'm PRIME and can expect excellent delivery service next day. Found a guy who had experienced the same problem as me. He is in the comments which is why i went for this solution. Pump arrived next day, the 5m hose the day after and i set to work. 15mins later my split tank was empty and my dona tank filled.......Please see my pics. It easily sucked out on a full 5 m length of tube tank to tank. Saved my wallet big time and the environment, so pleased with this. No idea how long it will last but the fact the whole transaction cost and turn around was under £30 it has easily paid for itself in my situation.I'm that impressed i'm buying a second one for my pond....I struggle with a bad back emptying the water by buckets from my pond to keep the fisshies happy changing the water. Why struggle and hurt yourself for under £15 it makes no sense. I expected a bigger pump if i am honest but couldn't believe how small it was which i have shown by the pic by my hand. It will fit inside any geri can opening. So many uses now i think about it porting fluids from container to container, my bike petrol from tank to container, ponds, my hot tub and whatever else. Very impressed, its saved me.Hope that helps everyone.

This product would have been brilliant if it lasted more than 6 months. I purchased it to do water changes in a 80L aquarium. Since I only change 20% a week, it's not a lot of work for this pump. Looks like a well built pump, but looks were deceiving. Failed in a very short time.

I use this to pump sea water out of my boat - It's great that it has copper battery conections as the steal ones rust away in no time ....a simple great value little pump.

Pump has stopped working after 12 weeks.

Love this pump. Been using this for a while now to transfer diesel and i have had no issue.The transfer time is very good empties a 25ltr container in just over 1 minute. Good power and good value.
