Great shelf at a decent price
I purchased this shelf for my classroom library because I had a similar EC4R shelf (see photo). From the photos, I assumed that this shelf would be the exact same size as the first one, just one shelf taller, but that isn’t the case. It’s still fine for what I need, but the shelves on this one are shorter than the shelves on my first one.Assembly: It was moderately easy to assemble. I was able to build it all myself in just about an hour with two rebuilds because I screwed pieces together incorrectly. The parts were all labeled well, but the directions left a lot to the imagination. It was hard to decide which side was “up” on the shelves without the context of the entire shelf. For a first-timer, it definitely would have been tricky to put together. All the pilot holes and screws fit together and nicely. You needed a Philip’s head screwdriver for some parts, but the majority used the hex wrench that comes with it. It was relatively easy to get a super-tight fit on everything. The shelf is very sturdy and I (and the custodians!) enjoy that it is on wheels and easy to move. It will definitely hold a lot of books/ games/ blocks and it exactly what I was looking for in a new shelving unit.

Worth every penny
The entire ECR for kids line of furniture is outstanding! Everything went to together easily and the quality is excellent. If you are looking for furniture for kids rooms just choose this. You won’t be disappointed.

Kids Storage Cabinet
My mom bought two of these years ago for the playroom. I always wanted to get two more and I am so glad I did. They are sturdy and easy to put together. My mom helped me with the first two, but I did the other two on my own. The only thing that was harder the second round of putting them together was the directions were wrong in two spots. It had the letter G and the letter F stickers on the wrong wood. Basically I had to switch the two around. Thankfully I had the other ones because I knew that it was not right away. However the playroom is much more organized now. Very happy with this purchase.

Decent Product, Manufacturer Needs to Fix Diagrams & Provide Screw Sticker Covers
Thought it was a bit overpriced for a birch plywood product - but compared to the ECR4Kids website ($340), this is a good deal through Amazon. Also, diagrams in the instructions aren't quite right.Instructions WILL work, but they need improvement; so, here are some pointers for you detail-oriented folks. Pay attention to the FINISHED edges of the 5 small shelving boards. Ideally, these edges will be facing outward toward the user when complete. Steps 2, 3, and 4 in the instructions show the cam lock holes on the LEFT side when assembling. Doing so will put the finished edges on the same side as the grooves on the long boards (parts 'C', 'D', and 'E') - which is the BACK of the unit. So, be sure to place the finished edge OPPOSITE the grooved edge on the long boards (parts 'C', 'D' and 'E'). This will place the cam locks on the RIGHT, compared to the diagram. Also, NOT SHOWN in the instructions are the screw holes with the plastic grommets (for the cam screws). In Step 2, there should be two (2) of these holes FACING YOU on the long board, Part 'C', opposite of where the smaller boards (parts 'G') are first screwed in. In Step 3, there should be four (4) of these holes FACING YOU.Suggestion for the manufacturer: The diagrams in the instruction are bottom-left based reference. With my suggestions above, perhaps you should change your views to the bottom-right side. That way, the cam lock holes properly align on the RIGHT side vs LEFT in current diagrams - again, assuming the finished edge of each of the 5 smaller shelving boards (part 'G') is facing opposite the slotted edges of parts 'C', 'D' and 'E'. In addition, please ADD or SHOW the holes with the plastic grommets for the cam screws - they're missing from the diagrams in Steps 2 and 3 and could be a source of confusion. Finally - one suggestion for the manufacturer: Post-assembly stickers that match the birchwood to cover all the screws and cam locks would have been a nice optional touch. Otherwise those cam locks and screws are exposed, which looks unsightly to me.

Great toy shelf
Real wood, not particle board. Easy enough for just me to assemble, just needed a fair amount of space to set it up. Looks great and stores lots of toys and books and a level my kid can access.

Quality is bad
I won't buy any more furniture from this company. The quality of the materials is so bad! Additionally, watch out for the assembly instructions. Not helpful at all. You are basing your assembly on pictures. I would not recommend this unit to anyone. The quality of the plywood is so brittle and bad. It is easy to screw right through the fake wood just putting it together. I had saw dust all over the floor. Also, the screws that go on the sides of the unit (that hold up the bookcase) got worn down just from me screwing them in and now the screws won't go all the way in. So screws are sticking out. Unbelievable! The quality is terrible. You are better off spending the extra money on a real hardwood bookcase. That is my recommendation.
