The Black Market Musou Black Fabric KIWAMI, Backcoated - 43 Inch Wide Sold by The Yard

We use black backgrounds for product photos and typically would have to up our contrast and even then the background was never pure black...This had been on our bucket list and it's extremely expensive but after purchasing it we're very pleased with the quality and effect.Additional note is the shipping time for us was 2 days. So if that's a hindrance for you they do keep rolls in the USA, FYI

When you shoot this fabric straight on, it's crazy dark, as advertised. But it's only designed to be ultra-black from that one angle. From other angles, it's closer to an ordinary black.Also note that you have to keep it pretty clean; dust and hairs REALLY show up on it, because of the extremely low albedo.

For over $100 for a single yard I would expect the quality control to be better. Straight out of the box there were 4 noticeable smudges of matted imperfections (one every 8 inches) in the center of the fabric that are not fixable by a "soft brushing" . It looks like a glue, heat, or other resin may have been on a roller during manufacturing?

I like how black it is but wish it had a adhesive back option

Unless you take a photo at an extreme enough angle to see the pile, this stuff disappears in photos. Incredible. Worth the money for sure.

bought this to cover Orthotics with as research. This stuff is BLACKER THAN BLACK and very nicely made would love to have 100 yrds of it.
