Get the most expensive protect plan to start with
Actual equipment was easy to install and connect to WiFi a set up there was no issues with that at all however getting a person from there support department on the phone proved to be a issue it’s automated an it says they will call u back when someone is available but unfortunately in my case it took a day or two before I actually got to talk to someone an the person I talked to could barely speak English an could barely understand me an all I needed was the certificate saying I have 24 hour smoke monitoring I have to have that its the only reason I chose X Sense because the add says I can print a certificate from my app on my phone and very convenient if that was true however I later come to find out that I have to have a certain monitoring package to get the certificate option so then I spent more of my hard earned money for the package that offers the certificate an then still could not get the certificate becouse come to find out I have to deactivate the first monitoring package an take off the devices ( smoke detectors ) from that pack then add them to the new package then I tried to do that an for the life of me I could not remove the detectors from that one to add them to the new one so again I called for the like 5th time an then some time later they found the time to call me back and again could barely understand the guy an him me but anyways he then informed me that I have to remove the old service plan an activate the new one an then add the devices so then again I try to get them added an again no luck could not figure it out so as I write this lovely review I do not have a activated service plan or monitoring package which ever you call it an my devices are still added to the first plan that I paid for first so now I don’t actually know if my smoke detectors are being monitored or not I know they work great an to just clarify I’m sure all this is just user error I do not believe it is the equipment at all they are perfect love the size an the control in the app I have with them however I do believe X Sense could make the certificate available for all packages not just the most expensive one an they should make clear that starting up you have to but the best monitoring plan to have access to print a certificate I believe they count on people buying the mid level package an then realize they have to have the bigger one to get the certificate so then they also have to buy the other one that’s the way it seems anyway in the end I paid for the base station and five smoke detectors and them had to pay for a monitoring plan then had to pay for another plan then ended up buying the same plan again lol so in the end I got aggravated with it an I got Vivint installed in my house an I didn’t have to do anything lol but an then to add a little icing on the cake today the day after I get Vivint I look on my Amazon app where I bought X Sense from an now it’s a couple days past the return time limit lol so eased money all around for me now I’m stuck with X Sense an not using it but again I want to make clear the system an equipment seems to work perfectly fine an nice an small good design love the look of them way better the these new ones but I just couldn’t figure out the logistics an I’m sure it’s all my fault however I do believe they could make the addition an subtraction of the devices a lot easier even if there is more then one plan payed for so in short very good nice product an easy to install an works great an looks cute but just go with the most expensive monitoring plan from the start it’s only literally a couple dollars more then the other don’t be chap like me an try to save a couple dollars I think if I would have chose that one from the beginning I would not have Vivint but it is what it is but I do recommend very muchThank You,Shannon J MaynardP.S,They also could make sure the lovely people in the call center they use for customer service can speak English an understand English a tad bit better i get that a lot of companies have to like contact that kind of stuff out sometimes over seas to save money I get it an understand however theu could hire people that speak English a little bit better or get English lessons for said employees just a thought but can’t say anything bad about the product just my experience but probably all my fault lol

I have confidence will work as advertise in an emergency.
I like the concept of these, they seem to work quite well. I test them routinely and I really like the app that controls them.I bought a five pack and then one extra unit, they were easy to set up and install. When my neighbor’s smoke from his lawnmower entered my garage and set off my smoke alarm the app notified me even though I was not home and I was able to check for a problem.

Nice product overall
Reasonable price compared to other similar products. Easy to install. I really like the ability to monitor and control through the app which works seamlessly. Hopefully they continue to support the software through the future.

Good devices, but needs better Alexa functionality
Easy to setup, but I wish that there was better Alexa support. Alexa only recognizes the base station as a home security station. I wish the the smokes were listed as separate devices on my smart network.

Does not alert you remotely!
I suppose it works and is useful if you're home all the time to receive your alerts while your phone is connected to Wi-Fi. I got home and as soon as my phone connected to Wi-Fi I got the alert from my water sensor. Would have been nice to know many hours beforehand. I have the SBS 50 base station, heat sensors, smoke alarms, and water sensors. So this is an update to my original posting which is obviously not very detailed but the initial problem occurred in that I bought this to alert me when my sump pump tripped the GFI and Water started accumulating in the basement. I got home the other day, pulled in my driveway, phone connected to my home Wi-Fi and immediately ONLY THEN got the alert, several hours after it would have been useful to know.So I contacted tech support and they got back with me the next day and asked me to try something relating to testing the devices and when I pressed the button on my combination smoke alarm carbon monoxide alarm it immediately went to a fast blue blinking light which meant it was trying to pair. I never could get it to pair I deleted it from the app I never could get it to connect to the app again. So I was still trying to figure this out it would only alert when I was connected to my Wi-Fi I tested it on a different Wi-Fi no luck I was getting email alerts but I wanted alerts through the app. I updated the app and was able to get alerts on mobile data only and put it away for the night next day I thought I'd try it all again guess what same issue alerts only when connected to Wi-Fi this is unreliable of course and if you're relying on it for carbon monoxide or fire then I consider it dangerous if it is not alerting your phone when you are on mobile only I have deleted the app and removed all the devices I just wish I hadn't gone all in on smoke alarms heat alarm carbon monoxide alarm and water alarms plus the base. Will be finding a different product.
