Some reviews criticised this book for being too Christian and preachy and that almost put me off buying this book. I am not Christian, but I didn't find this a Christian book at all. Having read this book I think those other reviewers are way over the top and actually borderline nonsense. Yes, it does have some quotes from the Bible, but they aren't random "preachy", let's get on our knees and pray to the all mighty quotes. The author always ties them into examples and explains it in a way that actually... it makes sense, it's wise and pretty good practical advice. The author basically tries to teach you the different types of anger, why you get angry, when it's justified/when it's not justified and how to manage anger so it's not controlling you.Doesn't matter who wrote this, what colour skin they are, what language they speak, what culture they belong to, or what religion they follow. At the end of the day it's a book to try help yourself be better. Simple as that.I personally didn't find it as good as the five love languages, but then they can't be directly compared I guess. Overall, I found it a good read and worth it.

So good, so helpful
What a great book. It gave me so much advice and helped me through a really tough time. It not only helps you to identify your own anger it helps you to recognise the anger in the people around you and gives to tips on how to address it. I would highly recommend it and I have done already.

Useful book but designed for christians
The book is ok. Although I didn't exactly find the answer to my situation (being angry with a situation that I cannot escape or with a child who is too little to be confronted) I did find some helpful information. However what upset me is that the author designed this book for christians but failed to mention this fact in an annotation. Basically in every chapter he mentions god or cites the bible. What if I am not a believer? Does this mean that if handling my anger I decide to "let the offence go" I cannot do that because this step requires to confess my anger in prayer and turn that person to god? There are many examples like this in a book. Personally I was able to ignore this and somewhat adapt the information to fit me. But if you might have a problem with to much bible stuff either don't buy the book or be prepared to skip whole pages.

Great book!
This is a brilliant book, and really goes through many aspects of how to handle our anger and hurts in the way that is good for our relationships and showing love to one another. It explains the topic biblically so well too, and some prayers in there too. I really enjoy reading Gary Chapman's books, they are very well explained and realistic.

Great thought prevoking book
I really enjoyed reading this book. It really helped to come to terms with my anger issues, what is causing my anger and how to deal with my anger.

Very good for Christians who want to mature in Christ
I really enjoyed reading the book, it was eye opening and I was impressed with the scriptures and Bible principles that back up on how to respond in a Godly way when possessed by this powerful emotion.

Heavily focused on Christianity
I found this book difficult to read because I wasn't expecting such a heavy focus on Christianity. I am sure for those with a strong sense of faith it may be useful but for those more interested in the psychology it is too distracting to have the accompanying preaching. I think this should have been made clearer in the item description: the fact that it isn't makes it somehow feel a bit sneakily evangelical.

Extremely Important Information for Peace of Mind when Angry!
I rarely get angry or have out of control emotions but lately I felt angry about something in particular. So what does this book say to get rid of "simmering resentments" and "Good" and "Bad" anger? So as I continued to read this book I wondered what I could do personally to make myself feel better. As Gary Chapman says: "Anger is the opposite of the feelings of love. Love draws you toward the person; anger sets you against the person." Truer words have rarely been spoken! This book explains the root causes of anger like hurt, injustice or rejection. This book answers the following questions:What can delay an angry response? Why is anger sometimes an unmet need for love? What is a loving confrontation? Why do some people seem to have a change in personality when they are stressed out?Could anger have much deeper roots than we imagine? Is depression sometimes caused by anger? How can you prevent passive-aggressive behavior? In this book there is a prayer that when prayed seriously and with an open heart helps to dissolve anger nearly immediately. I tried it and it worked. This book also has information on how to deal with an angry person in case you got it for that reason. I actually bought this book for someone else, but I found it was helpful to me at a time when I needed it most.So whether you struggle with anger or are dealing with an angry person this book explains why it is happening and what to do about it. It really is that practical and helpful. You will probably feel much better after reading it and understanding your own unique situation.~The Rebecca ReviewP.S. Forgiving the person and telling them you've forgiven them is key to getting rid of the obsessive thoughts and negative moods!!! It works!
