Is it OK to get excited about a razor?
I had a seven series Braun which had given up the gost. Really, a five series was within my budget and I'd been looking at the newer version but saw a review which basically said the new version isn't much good and - if you can find one - buy this (older) version...which I did.I didn't know what to expect - presumably not quite as a capable as my seven series had been, but, what else? Well, I have to say, this is without doubt the best electric razor I've had (apart from that seven series Braun, I've used Remingtons). It's quiet (well, much quieter than my previous Braun), comfportable and delivers a great shave. You'll never get an electric razor to shave better than a wet razor, but this thing is close. Each time I use it (daily), I can't help thinking how good it is. That's a bit sad, I know, but there it is! Oh, and it charges quickly and lasts a good length of time on one charge - plus the LEDs tell you how the battery is getting on.I guess they're hard to come by now, but if you can find one, seriously consider it - I doubt you'll be disappointed...and if you are, you need to go back to the good old Gillette razor and the mess of wet shaving.

Unbelievably easy shave
Being someone who constantly cut himself shaving with a razor, I very quickly hopped on the electric shaver train with a Series 3 Braun shaver. That allowed me to shave without having to run hot water, shave anywhere really and made shaving a lot easier with no chance of cuts. However, it didn't always give the best close shave. This shaver made such a difference. Again, all the same perks: quick, easy, no water needed, and no cuts. This shaver can do a much closer shave. It still misses some patches, but I honestly think my throat hair just can't be tamed. The shaver head moves really well and means you don't have to angle it yourself, just move it around your face, making it even less effort to use. Battery life is significant, I think I've maybe charged it up once in a month or so. Cleaning it is very easy, just brush around the shaver head a little, with an actual wash every so often for a deep clean.Overall, a great product that truly takes the effort out of shaving

Decent model for the price, a Black Friday offer
After many years using Philips (rotary head) shavers I decided to try a Braun foil shaver, settling on the 5140s after lots of research and attracted by a very competitive price over Black Friday. Very simple to use and easy to clean although I’m not planning to use in the shower or with shaving foam - a key selling point. A good, close shave on the whole, although not perfect. In spite of my best efforts I’m still aware of some stubble around the throat/neck area even after multiple attempts in different directions stretching the skin to the point of discomfort. Early days but I have high hopes for battery life given the Li-on battery. Very noisy when compared to the Philips shavers I’ve used previously. No doubt I will become accustomed to this in time. Shame there is no travel case. A cheaper 3 series model I tried and returned came with one as standard.

Close and comfortable shave
This is a well-designed, well-engineered product. The shaving experience is really good. I have never experienced any discomfort. The results are impressive too. The best electric shaver I have had

Gives a great shave
The razor in my posession fell apart. Rather than buy the replacement parts, which were available, I decided to invest in a new razor, from a different manufacturer. My original razor only lasted three years, despite my handling it with great care. I saw no point in putting more money into a product which appeared to fail easily. This razor arrived next day and is easy to use. Cleaning is simple and I had decided to get a Li-ion battery instead of NiMH. It gives me a close shave and is nice to use. As I have another Braun razor which I have had for some ten years, without problems, I went back to Braun. I use one daily and the other for travelling - of which I do a lot.

A close, but noisy and uncomfortable shave
I'd had a Philishave for many years which was marvellous. It was so old, I could no longer get replacement blades for it so I had to start again. There are 100s of electric shavers and it took me a long time to make a decision. I eventually went for the Braun Series 5 mostly because of the reviews. But after several months of using it I've decided to stop and go back to a Philips shaver with separate, floating heads. There are two main plus points:1). the Braun gives a very close shave2). the battery lasts for at least a month of shaving. The main downside is its vibration. This high frequency vibration is particularly uncomfortable on my neck and throat – I started to dread shaving these areas.2). It's noisy3). The so-called 'floating head' is no such thing. The head does not move to follow the contour of my face at all. This doesn't really matter because I adjust the angle of the shaver, but this ineffective design adds unnecessary cost to the shaver.4). The precision trimmer is only 21mm wide in comparison with 25mm with the Philips. It is not possible to trim the sideburn in one go which is slightly awkward. So all in all, I'm really disappointed in this £90 shaver. It's sitting in a drawer looking for a new purpose in life. I've now gone for a Philips New Series 3000 shaver at £45. It's nearly completely silent, the three floating heads tilt perfectly to follow the contour of my face and it gives an effortless, close shave. A delight to use.

I’m converted to electric
I’ve been wet shaving all my life and then went with the beard trend over the past few years. I decided to go back to clean skin and took the plunge when I saw this on offer.I’m not regretting it, what a great piece of kit! Here are the headlines -- excellent build quality - feels solid but not too heavy in the hand- gives a great shave! I had a 5 day growth and it cut through it so easily with no tugging at all. My skin was so soft afterwards.- looks excellent- can be used in the shower and be rinsed properlyOne thing to make you aware of, mine did NOT come with the cleaning station but I’m ok with that as I bought some of the Braun razor spray to clean it and it works well. This really is a fantastic shaver, highly recommended - I won’t be going back to my old expensive wet razors!

USELESS!! Does not include plug adapter!
Just opened my early Xmas present from my wife only to find that there is no plug adapter- it says clearly in the description that this would be included for North American customers (see bottom of picture where it clearly states this). Until I get it, this shaver is useless to me.

Muy suave para pieles sensibles
Venía de una philips serie 9000, y esta afeita mucho mejor. No puedo valorar como envejece todavía.
