Tamper mat / tamping base with fold made of natural rubber

I had been using a silicone rubber tamping mat - straight forwards flat mat. I changed as these are easier to use with a bottomless portafilter and went for natural rubber as I had a feeling it would be easier to keep clean - that seems to be the case so far.It came coated in talc - the release agent they use when it's moulded. A quick scrub with a nail brush got rid of that.

Great for protecting surfaces while tamping coffee

As our earlier tamper mat was worn away in the middle we decided to replace it. This one was decent price and arrived quickly.It is small and hard. When we first started using it the bottom of the filter was slipping around but we are getting used to it and the rubber is wearing in. It is probably not a problem for many but I think we will try a different one next time. Once this is also had a hole in it.Not bad for the price and it does what it needs to but if you use it in a busy shop and care about comfort and usability, there are probably better ones.
