Added extra security
I felt the lock I had was a bit old, but still secure, so I wanted to add a seperate lock to my front door.I had a locksmith install this as I do not have the tools. It was fitted within around 15 minutes and that was because he was checking and double checking the measurements, anyway. the lock works great and with this lock, you cannot lock yourself out as you have to use a key to lock the lock

Can't lock yourself out! + Good Solid Lock!
This was a replacement for an old style Nightlarch for me, so the install was very easy. The only thing to be aware of with this (and most Yale style latch locks) you will need a hacksaw/piercing saw or dremmel to cut the pin down for the depth of your door... And for goodness sakes measure right the first time! The new addition of the roller latch when the door is unlocked is a nice feature.Would recommend these over the "normal" Yale any day of the week, even with the higher price tag, you do get what you pay for in this instance.

Poor quality and potentially dangerous
This is the second of these locks which failed in the exact same way, after 4-5 years of use the handle came off in my hand. Then the only way to unlock the door was to go outside and use a key.If the lock was fitted where there’s only a single entry point e.g. an apartment, someone would be trapped inside, which is potentially dangerous e.g. if exiting in an emergency.

Makes me feel more secure
I have had standard night latch on my garage door for the last 6 or 7 years, but after a recent spate of break ins and being locked out by accident a few times, I thought I should get something more secure but less likely to accidentally close and lock me out.I had done alot of research and as usual, Yale came out top. This lock makes me feel the garage is secure now as it is a dead bolt and cannot be forced back without turning the latch like the night latches could. It is also strongly secured to the door as there are several screw points and, in the case of the catch that the bolt goes into, it is in two pieces so you screw one bit on, then the second bit slides onto it and is screwed in too. This can be a little fiddly but once done, it won't come off for anyone.I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants better piece of mind than a night latch.

Mid-quality product that does not like water
I purchased this lock to replace a previous version whose interior lever started to malfunction (after 6 years of use). It was a bit tricky to install and there was a need to cut a connecting bar and this required a little metal saw and a file for finishing, it was also difficult to imagine how to manipulate the lock to remove it and insert the new one. After a few days my boat was powerhosed and it seems because of humidity around the lock became very hard to use. I had to dismount again and put some oil here and there. It seems to work again. Hope the winter will be dry and warm.

Solid, well built and looks the business.
Love this, has a satisfactory solidness about it and a "clunk" as it deadbolts. Was ok to install, if you fit it and find it doesn't work, it'll be because you haven't trimmed the internal bar enough. Just remove and file a little bit more off, it has to be exact. I found fitting the bit into the door frame was trickier as I'm no joiner, but eventually I got there. It's solid, well built and worth the money, you can deadlock from inside by flipping the handle or outside with the key. Can't get yourself locked in or out as you have full control over it and it adds to the feeling of security on your home. Definately recommend.

Does what we need it to, fitting could be a bit fiddly.
Brilliant having a Yale lock that makes it impossible for us to lock ourselves out. Suits our requirements really well.On fitting, I had to adjust the spacing of the keep a bit in order to get the roller catch to work correctly. Too narrow a gap between the latch and the keep and roller will not work. It is not a big problem though, in my case, a couple of millimeters, 2 strips of cardboard off a cornflakes box did the trick.I put a handle on the inside of the door as well, as trying to use the handle on the latch to pull the door open was awkward, could only use 2 fingers to grip it.A downside is that it has no deadlock capability, we have a mortice lock in the door as well, so not an issue for us.Would not rely on it as the only means of door security
