Edit: The tops are definitely too loose. If you jam them on to the sloping neck hard they will hold quite fast, but the slightest pressure on the side of the top releases it and it falls off very easily.When I first used these shakers I did ruin a good breakfast, dumping a full load of salt over it, and was so annoyed that I gave a 1-start rating, and had planned to return them.But I loved everything else a about them. The simple cylindrical style and the colours exactly fit my requirements and I couldn't find anything else close on Amazon, so I experimented and found that by simply putting a couple of wraps of sellotape around the necks, under the tops, the problem is completely resolved.Since the solution I found is simple, using a common household item, I am upgrading my rating. If it hadn't been for the little bit of DIY needed to make them functional I would have given 5 stars.

Perfect for the purpose

This salt and pepper set are exactly what I wanted but I was disappointed that the hole in the salt pot didn't allow the salt to pour out instead had to be shaken vigorously and then very little came out. My husband rectified this by making the hole slightly bigger. Works perfectly now!

There are not bad quality salt and pepper pots. They arrived safely without any scratches or dent. The red is bright, Ideal if you are looking for items for a more modern type of kitchen.Yes the lids were a little tight when trying to open them, But with a bit of a pull they were off and then went back on ok.The material they are made of isn't the thickest, But it does the job fine. I'm not sure they Would withstand being dropped on the floor without getting any dents though. If you want more tougher pots then I suggest you by a more expensive set.Overall these pots are ok value for money and look good and would certainly brighten up any kitchen. I recommend them. If you fill the salt up, lids falls off and you end up with salt full of plate. Seems like a design fault. Lids won't stay on properly if you gotore than half way salt in them.

Nice sized set and lovely colour. Lid comes off easily for filling with salt and pepper and stays on when shaking. Happy with purchase

The top on the salt shaker got stuck for a few months so I couldn't refill it. I finally got it open and it's been fine since then.

Love the colour and style. The lids, however not as secure.
