most useful little thing ive gotten easy to use just smells obviesly and it actually holds things well, if you use it correctly.

Wires stapes work well. Welding tip works ok, overheats with continuous use when welding. Good tool for the money.

This is my first time plastic "welding". I thought I would try it on a large bucket that was broken by my child jumping on it. Overall, I was very impressed on how quickly it turned the staples red hot. It took no time at all to melt them into the crack. You do need to wait a couple seconds to let the plastic cool before pulling out, otherwise the red hot staple will pull out with the gun.As you can see from the pictures, you need to use "real" metal duct tape so that the staples do not melt through. I at first used the included side cutters to cut the staples after melting them in. For an included side cutters they did the job, however, I switched to my own side cutters to get closer to the plastic. After that I used the flat iron attachment to melt the crack and seal it. I also filed down the staples down on the edges so that it wouldn't catch on anything. There was a couple places on the inside of the tub that you could see indentations of staples, but nothing to bad. I think that if I would have placed the duct tape more firmly against the plastic could have prevented the indentations. I did fill it with a little water just to test it. I had one very small drop coming through in one spot. Overall very impress.So why 4 stars? As you can see in the pictures, the case is already splitting in two. I think I have opened the case three times. That is really annoying. I will say that considering how quickly the staples turn red hot and you hold the gun with one hand and put in the staple with the other, if you are not careful you could easily burn yourself while putting in a staple and accidentally holding the trigger. A safety switch would be beneficial.

This thing works so well that I can't believe I didn't own one sooner. I fixed a hinge bracket for the bolster on my boat that is no longer for sale. It made an incredibly strong connection and made my bracket as good as new! I would practice first on a junk piece of plastic so you can get a feel for it, but all in all it's stupid easy to use. Glad I own this thing now.

Comes very handy fixing broken plastic parts. I use it a lot more that I thought.

I have been skeptical of these for years, but this unit worked for me. It took me numerous tries to get better at it but now I feel very comfortable using this device. My first time using it was on a plastic storage box and it does not look as good as my later repairs the box is totally useable, so anyone should feel comfortable using this to repair plastic parts.

The kit includes dozens of steel pieces to "stich" a crack closed. The unit heats up very quickly. The instructions are lacking. One must look on YouTube to get started if they have never used on before. Overall, great buy and would recommend to others.
