Excellent designed ink pot with a surprising ink.
Looking for a dipping ink pot for my art work. Montblanc shaped bottle looked solidly made and the prefect height. Added feature of being able to tip the bottle into a smaller well near the cap was a great design plus.Screw top cap is robust and easy to open or close. This mystery black ink is not a permanent ink. It was interesting from my art point of view to deliberately to spill water over the dried ink for effect. After completely washing away the black ink there was residue sepia coloured ink marks which was easy to read the original text I wrote in mystery black. Will be buying more.

Quality ink at a competitive price
Comes in a very smart MB box, and this latest model, squarer bottle is more attractive than my old ink bottle - I've kept it as I have seen them for sale at over £5. The Black mystery ink flows perfectly in my MB fountain pen and it is a joy to write with it. Personally, I think it is well worth the extra £6-£8 for the correct MB ink to prolong the life of your MB pen. This ink is a lot cheaper than my local MB Pen shop sell it by more than £10.

The best ink ever.
This is the best ink I’ve ever used.Goes on nicely and dries fairly quickly. The main thing is that it doesn’t seem to fade.... used to use a different ink but have been using this for around four years now. Looking back at old documents I’ve filled in and you can see where the older stuff has faded a little but the Mont Blanc is as dark and silky as the day used it.

High quality, if expensive, ink
This is a high quality ink (as you'd expect of Mont Blanc) which has behaved well in a range of pens and papers. The packaging is very swish, and the bottle is chunky but functional (and makes a nice desk ornament.) I have wanted to try at least one Mont Blanc ink for a while, and this one was available at a slightly more reasonable price than they normally sell for. To my eyes, the colour is more treacle toffee than dairy toffee (ie it's a red-brown rather than a yellow brown) and I would say that the colour is austere enough for formal correspondence, but with a hint of quirkiness. The only down side of the ink is its price: you can obtain equal quality ink, in a similar shade, much more cheaply from other manufacturers. But if you want the cachet of Mont Blanc, and the bottle on your desk, you have to fork out for it.

Lovely Ink
Lovely smooth ink and the postage was very speedy. There is something special about using my Mont Blanc fountain pen and this ink just tops everything off. The Mystery Black ink is so good it could do with a blotter; it is thick and luscious. I originally purchased some burgandy 'Mont Blanc' ink second-hand on an alternative website (which we call call 'tebay') and thought that was absolutely fine until I tried this brand new, reputable-seller stuff. What a difference! The other stuff was thinner and not such good quality. Would highly recommend this fairly-priced item from this seller.

Fantastic
Great ink. A little pricier, but in my opinion well worth it. I previously used Parker ink, but find I enjoy this far more, both for the tone of black and the overall texture. Personally I don't like black inks with a blue base, and this has more of a brown-grey base which I like.Had no issue using this ink in very fine nib fountain pens. It also reacts well when watered down. 10/10, will most certainly repurchase.
