Handmade in my studio with care and with you in mind. WHY IS DICHROIC JEWELLERY SO DIFFERENT? Dichroic glass holds a unique colour changing property, it changes colour depending on the angle viewed and the clothes worn with it. Dichroic glass is made from very thin layers of glass with several rare materials placed on the surface of the glass. The glass is places in a vacuum chamber and bombarded with an intense electron beam. This beam vaporizes some of the material, which in turn coats vibrant colours onto the glass. If you view the glass from different angles you will see a variety of colours as you rotate it. When the glass is held in the hand one colour is seen by reflected light, tilt the glass and another colour will shine through it. Wavelengths of light transmit and reflect through the glass creating different iridescent surface colours. Photos cannot possibly capture the beauty of glass. Please remember individual monitors may show a slightly different color. I photograph in sunlight and in shade, whichever I think gives the best resemblance of the colours.
