If you are using a clear stamp, you would need to place the black foam sheet under the " door". If using foam backed rubber stamps you wouldn't need black foam. Place card or paper on top of grid, then put your stamp where you want it face down. Close door and it then your stamp will lift and be ready for inking, once you've inked it close the door and then your image will be stamped, if your image didn't stamp quite as clear/ bold as you'd like you can just open door, ink again and close to intensify your image. You can also make multiple identical cards, because all the guess work is done, perfect everytime. This is what.makes the misti so special. If this hasn't made sense, check various you tube videos.
