SHARP! Comfortable! Safe for stripping Romex, BX, etc!
Every time I do a wiring project, I end up needing to strip some sheathing, and as an amateur I always end up using a razor or pocket knife. Sometimes I knick a wire, sometimes I don't. I think these will really help reduce my errors and potential for shoving a knife into my hand.Pros:- Sharp! It easily slid through a test piece of Romex that I was working with- Ergonomic - it's a really comfortable tool in hand- Good sheath - really positive retention on the sheath, you're not likely to accidentally lose it.Cons:- Will probably be annoying to sharpen someday- You still need to pay attention to what you're doing and not drag this across your palm.Definitely worth a buy if you have DIY wiring projects. I'm sure the pros already know what to use, but I'm sure these would be acceptable to at least journeymen as well.FYI: I received this for “free” as part of the Amazon Vine Voice program but will still pay income taxes on the value of it, kind of like a contractor.

Works ok with larger wire
Work well under specific circumstances, you need to straighten wire first as much as you can, it has to be larger than 10 gauge to really work. Nice handle, sharp blade out of box. Not sure how long this will last, blade is hard to sharpen because of football shaped cable guide at the tip.

makes stripping sheathing so much easier
I am a big DIYer and got this primarily for stripping the sheathing on both ethernet cable and romex wiring. In the past I've generally used a utility knife or tiny pair of scisssors. Neither method is great. This knife is a fantastic solution that works really well. You can easily strip the sheathing off without worrying about nicking the inner wire's insulation. There is a little resistance to get started but once it is going it is really smooth. Do note that this is only for removing the outer sheathing of a bundle of wires, it is not for removing the insulation from a single wire.

high quality
The knife is made of very good quality. It's very solid and it has a solid feel when holding and using. I was worried it may be lightweight which could be a concern when using it with wires. Worth also pointing out is that it very sharp which is a good thing for its purpose. Cut thru wire sheathing without any issues. And since it's very sharp it also comes with the a cover. All in all i think it's must to have for any electrical wiring jobs. I had never seen one of these before and had my doubts, but I think this is now my go to tool

Good for telco and other multi-strand indoor wire.
As a whole I can't complain. Slightly rubberized handle with a nice thumb ledge for stabilization and grip control. The molded blade cap snaps on and off nicely yet stays secure in my bag. The flat bill on the tip made for a clean stripping of a 50 and 25 pair Telco wire as well as pulling back the sheathing on a power cord that needed to be hard wired. Much less worry than with a razor or fighting to get full hold off the internal rip cord. One key point is that this knife of designed for flexible sheathing not something rigid like Corning ADSS fiber sheathing or any kind of armored cable. In my eyes it is a modified old school hook bill knife but that isn't a bad thing. For the current price point it's worth it if your dealing with larger diameter cable on a regular basis.

Nub broke off on first use.
Stripped 40’ of 3/c #2 and the wire protection nub popped off on the last foot of cable. It was the first chance I had to use it and it broke. Spend the extra $ and get the knipex.
