It works
I am 60. I learned how to bike by myself at 14 and did not own a bike until I turned 35. During the last 3 months I bought 2 road bikes (1 Aluminum and 1 Carbon, I also have a MTB and a comfort bike) and a spin bike and began pedaling almost every day when the weather allows. I know that my 2 wheels skill is not great and I need a lot of helps from the latest bike technologies. Luckily I am good with mechanical stuff so I started watching You Tube and switching almost every thing on my bikes especially cassettes and chainrings to find a solution for my poor hill climbing ability. Today, after I put the 38T Oval SHARKTOOTH chainring replacing the regular 40T ring and test drive both of them within an hour. I can say that my quest for the best climbing bike is over. The oval ring is the holy grail and does the miracle. I got more power and went faster (both on and off the seat) on the hilly road in front of my house, and the best thing was I still got some breath left so I went down and circle back up again.I strongly recommend that you all should try it. Just do a little research on how to put the thing in the right way.

Great chainrings, great price!
Finally decided to try oval chainrings. Found these and gave them a shot. Couldn’t be happier. Bought 50/34. They work great. Took about 10 mins to pull my Ultegra rings off and install these. Slight adjustment to the front derailleur to account for the oval shape high points during rotation and that was it. Shifting is pretty smooth. I’m running full Ultegra Di2 on my Pinarello and have no problems with these rings. No issue with flex under power or anything else.

Great chainring, but still dropped...to the outside.
The chainring is stiff. I've had no issues with it flexing under load. I'm using the 53 tooth, 110 BCD on a 1X drivetrain with SRAM Force rear derailleur that incorporates a clutch in the RD. I did drop the chain, twice in one ride, however. I'm going to run a chain-keeper to see if that eliminates that issue.

Absolutely astounding vs round rings.
I did not purchase this ring from Amazon but wanted to leave a review because of my delight with the product. I bought a 110bcd 5-bolt 34t oval ring directly from the USAmade website and rode it for the first time this past weekend. It was absolutely astounding the difference the oval makes vs a round ring. There is a long hill of 1.5 miles on my regular ride that I have never, ever been able to climb without shifting into my absolute lowest gear (34t on an 11-34 cassette) and struggling mightily at the end. With this oval ring I made it to the top and NEVER ONCE had to shift to that lowest gear at 34t. I cruised the entire way on the 2nd lowest gear at 28t. Some strange black magic at work, for sure but it is for real. I finished that 25 mile ride a full 15 minutes sooner than ever before because the hills were so much faster climbing with this ring.Even though it is 34t, the elongated part of the oval gives you 36t at the "power position" where your pedal stroke is the strongest. By the time you finish that downstroke your opposite leg is engaging on it's power stroke - you basically get a free ride on the side that is returning to its power position. It is that free ride that conserves energy - all your serious energy goes into those power strokes on each side.Everyone will always have a different opinion on everything and with cycling it is always paramount to have a proper setup - if you do not you will never optimize your pedal stroke. Also critical to have the right chainline and derailleur adjustments - you should never have a dropped chain when things are properly tuned. This oval ring phenomenon is for real, the science behind it is real and I will never ever ride another round ring. It is nice to have a USA manufacturer that offers such nice rings at such a fair price.

Difficult placement.
Ok so they put a clear little marker on it for where to line up the crank arm. Except that, its not real clear where that goes. I would have thought, hey hide this marker behind the crank arm. But the way they printed it makes that not possible. So maybe it is supposed to point at the far side mount hole, in line with the crank arm. Maybe not. Their packaging should just have a simple diagram, hey put these marking here in relation to the crank arm. Nice and simple.Outside of that i havnt noticed the shark tooth changing any of the noise or anything. Chances are it makes the chain roller roll further on the surface of the tooth. Less efficient if thats the case. Thankfully my single speed is not my all day steed, just the putt around town sort.

OK, but not earth shattering
Looks good, installs easy. Rode it for about 6 months, never really felt the advantage. It took a little work to get the front derailleur to work without throwing the chain. I also had to e-mail the manufacturer to figure out how to install it in relationship to the crank arm... as there were no instructions. I ultimately took it off, and passed it along to a friend, and I don't miss it.

It’s okay
Works okay. Not great for a 1X setup. I drop the chain about every other ride.
