BUY IT! You’ll thank me later 😊👍
Beautifully written and the original illustrations make this book a pure joy to colour. The paper is thick enough for colour but not for watercolours, and alcohol markers will bleed through. You can even colour in the words nxt to a full page of colour. This book is not hard to do but not easy either lol!I wonder if I’ll ever finish it 😂

John Tenniel Classic Original Illustrations
I love this but I can understand why some don't and though I love it I don't love all of it. Those that don't like it seam to complain most about the shading, that it's to dark to colour over, they want line drawings with empty space to colour in. What they are over looking is that these drawings were not intended for a colouring book in the first place. They are in fact the original John Tenniel illustrations for the first ever published Alice's books. John Tenniel did, for deluxe copies of the books, produce colour versions of these illustrations and he did it by simply water colour washing the colours on to the illustrations, letting the shading show through the colour and if you do the same you will get a classic period look to the pictures. That's why I like them, because they are John Tenniel's originals as seen in the original first additions of the books and subsequent copies since. The thing I don't like is that the compilers have taken on them selves to turn some of the illustrations into wallpaper style patterns, but while I don't like it I don't disapprove and other people may appreciate it, I just feel the illustrations are strong enough in their own right without added ornamentation. If you really want the illustrations without the shading or heavy black lines you could always trace them leaving out any unwanted shading or superfluous detail. It might take you longer and seam more involved but did you buy it for quick results or as something to pass the time in creativity? What could be more creative than adapting it to fit your needs rather than expecting it to fit you needs straight of the shelf; might as well look for a picture book already coloured in and save yourself the bother. If you don't know how to trace I'm sure there's a web site out there that will show you, or even a craft book, and once learnt who knows what other uses you could employ it for. For those more computer minded how about scanning the illustrations, this works for any illustration, colouring book or other, into your computers picture file, copy into 'Paint' (or any other picture editing program, Paint is just on all computers by default from new) where you can play about with them to your harts content adding colours, removing unwanted bits, adding one image to another to make new pictures whatever your imagination can come up with. You don't just have to sit there patiently colouring in the pages with coloured pencils unless that's what you really want to do.

well i would just like to say
Hi, well i would just like to say, "if we all took the attitude of not writing reviews now and then, were would we be ?"I think reviews are very helpful and maybe mine might be of use to you , i hope so.. So i took a chance on this book , as it was reduced and i thought well if it.s crap , it,s not the end of the world, as we know it! As a direct decendant of Charles Ludwig Dobson, i felt a connection and a need to colour in this book, my great aunt. was such a nice person. i do think of her fondly and to be honest ,she had a great sence of humor and as a 5 ar old i thought she was great " nutty aunt " and her husband was a great gentleman. At this stage i must point out that i,m a descandant of his brothers blood line , he had no children of his own. so at last the review. = Yes i was pleasantly pleased on the hole, err not the rabbit hole, he he, i do find the larger the book ,the more empty spaces there are to fill in.. i tend to like the paperback size colouring books the detail is far better.. So their you have it , happy colouring..

One for all ages
Great fun to colour. Even better being sold by a charity to boost their funds.

Absolutely my favourite 'themed' colouring book. A real treat!
Stunning book. Much better than the other Alice colouring books you can get. Would recommend this over the goodwives book due to an absence of the mad hatter from that one. I cannot wait to colour and frame these images which are just as beautiful as I remember 30 years ago as a child. What a lovely opportunity to be able to buy this. Worth getting a second copy to send framed pictures as gifts.
