PChOOD PCHD001 Pro Hood for 15-26 inch Monitor

I recently bought a Dell 25 inch 4K HD monitor to link to my MacBook Pro and found that the ambient lighting was just to bright.Looked online and found this to be slightly cheaper than PC and Photography stores.Easy to assemble and attach to monitor, the result is fantastic. Not cheap but well worth it.Arrived within 48 hours. Had product tracking and email notification of arrival time within the nearest 20 minutes, unlike some online sellers...Highly recommend.

Just to say this was not really useable on my 27" iMac. The description is misleading because both amazon & supplier blurb states 15-27" monitor, but then if you read further it states 15-26". I phoned the supplier, and they advised it might just work for an iMac 27" but would probably need some glue as panels only 'just' fit into each other - actually, we're talking of a mere fraction of an inch, and I could not make them push in enough at all. The hood just sort of sits there, very insecurely, and just moving the monitor angle caused it to move, and the sides moved about.Another problem I noticed is that on the right hand side it is just not possible to use the cd/dvd slot, or the camera card slot, so to load photos or play a cd/dvd you'd have to remove the hood, meaning it would fall apart and you'd have to start again - this is the sort of info that should be givenThis really is not an option for 27", although the product itself seems ok, and probably fine on smaller monitors - but...even if you have a 21" iMac for example, please be aware that you will not have access to side cd/dvd/camera card slotsI haven't looked at it closely, but Photodon have a 27" imac version, and it looks as if it's made for iMac, as it does have side cutout for access to slots

Its an essential product for me - my workspace means I have no choice but to have the monitors against a window.They're well made, heavy plastic - be warned, if your monitor can move, it may well do when the weight of these is put on the top.The removable cover to put a calibrating device through is a nice touch - it just shows someone's thought about the practicalities of use more than with some other similar products.For my Asus ProArt monitors, its necessary to trim one side of the mounting face to access the monitor controls (it's 13cm that needs to be removed and its easy enough with a hacksaw..)Having looked at several other options of hoods, I'm not disappointed with these - they are a little pricey, but they are about average for the size and with the cloth lining to absorb light, are slightly higher quality.Be warned though, mine didn't come with any elastic straps as advertised. After contacting the manufacturers (who have been very helpful to this point) I have been advised that the spec might have changed and they're no longer included.If you're wondering about the 4 stars, I'm simply not sure that I can get that excited about a product that simply does its job, even though it does it very well..

Probably one of the better hoods out there, other than Eizo or NEC hoods...(if you have one their monitors, best to have own brand hoods I guess).I am using it on a Samsung 24" SyncMaster. Solid construction, nice felt like material on the inside to stop distracting you from the job in hand. Perhaps a little bit fiddely to put together, only have to do this once mind. It does not fold up so not fab for being mobile.I like the fact you can move the hood to a different size monitor when needed. One thing I am neutral on is the hatch for the calibration tool, it is only big enough for a plug and cable, I would like to see a bigger hatch so can drop my Spyder calibration tool through. This is only minor however and most certainly does not effect the suitability of the hood.I still gave it 5 stars, as for its intended use it is just great.

It helps but is not all that secure, it fall off regularly.

The product was as described, perfectly packaged by the manufacturer - although they do appear to supply unnecessary screws and screw driver. Better to have too much.... The product is nice and sturdy.Carmarthen supplied the product promptly with a perfect level of postal packaging - excellent service. It was also significantly cheaper than going to Color Confidence directly.

Does the job but was a bit upset at the price they ask for what results in a piece of plastic, but if you need something like this you have very little choice but to pay the inflated price asked.If they had asked a reasonable price this would be receiving 5 stars.
