Best drill for the price....better than a lot of more expensive drills too
Hitachi SDS drill's are probably the best to my mind and I have tried them all. Some big makes I would never ever buy again but a few I would and this is one of them.Plenty of guts behind the hammer and as long as you use decent bits (the cheap ones are a waste of electric, time and money to my mind) it flies through anything....I mean, it will fly through with a cheap £8 25mm bit but way better with a £30 quad-tipped bit and it won't bend and will clear the hole out as you are drilling and not leave a massive pile of dust in the hole bottom which has to be cleared every few seconds or blows back into your face and eyes due to dodgy designed bits...nightmare !Being corded (110Volt and 230Volt versions available) you always have juice on hand - 36volt/54volt cordless are still a waste of time for me, personally, unless you wish to spend you day at the charger I would rather pfaff about with leads and a trannie for an SDS - so you should have no trouble in reinforced concrete unkess you hit a rebar, of course, and as long as you run your cables in a tidy way no-one will be having a few days off (but you know that already).Has rotation stop so you can use it to chase out or de-tile or put larger hokes through and can be used with core-bits up to a sensible (not larger than 4") size. All in all a quality dril, genuinely, as all Hitachi's/Hikoki's are...recommended.

Great value hardworking drill
I already own a standard Makita cordless drill but needed something with a little more power to channel out walls ready for electrical cables. Not needing another cordless, this SDS Drill fitted my requirements perfectly. It effortlessly ploughed through walls and drilled holes for hours on end assisting me demolish a wall in my kitchen also. It has a hammer only setting which stops the drill rotating and allows you to use chisel bits with it.It comes in a protective plastic case and has a very long durable cord which has survived rubble and all sorts of abuse.I have used it with the following items and they have worked together perfectly:Armeg G225B4CC30 30mm Channelling ChiselMakita D-21200 SDS Plus Drill and Chisel Set, 17 pc.

Works well but.....WTF have I got a HiKOKI instead?
Unit will now be branded HiKOKI & come with a rather apologetic note and a sticker on the case which effectively says: "Sorry, some idiot in Marketing talked Hitachi into a rebranding exercise. You haven't been conned with a cheap knock off"Sigh. No doubt sales would plummet if actually rebranded on AmazonAnyway arrived this morning and immediately put into use.Had been using a bog standard hammer drill in hard engineering brick and was struggling. With this did the other 11 holes in the time it had taken to do one with hammer drill then cleaned off a fair number of bricks with chisel. All goodThings to note:1. This is an entry level SDS plus drill which is all I need as an infrequent user. For regular use would step up to a more powerful unit ut no point for me.2. Don't exepct too much from any SDS plus drill. If you are going to regularly drill large holes, chased out long runs or use big cores, go for SDS Max

very effective drill.
This is an excellent drill. I got it to replace a 5kg SDS that has started to become unreliable. Despite being a lot lighter, this is just as effective as a drill. I can't speak for it's chisel feature as I've yet to give it anywhere near the beatings that the other one used to get. What I have done on it so far though it's handled without blinking. Being a lot lighter, it's much more of a pleasure to use in the houses I work in and I'm much more likely to get this out instead of my much less effective cordless percussion drill. It comes supplied with a spacious case with plenty of room for a selection of drills/chisels so you haven't got to take a separate drill bag/box in with you.

Good drill at a reasonable price
I bought this 240 volt drill simply because my makita was110v and as i am now retired i didnt want to be carrying the transformer around at home. This machine is pretty much the same as my makita, however i prefer the variable speed control on the hitachi, you have greater control over speed as its not a 'hair' trigger. I have given it much use and occasionally abuse but it has plenty of power for most tasks. As an ex tradesman i demanded a lot from my tools, this drill is as good as any I've had and at a better price.

What used to take over a minute is done in seconds
Amazing, I've been using a cordless for years and so was astonished when I first fired this beast up. I was hesitant about switching to SDS as already have a collection of standard drill bits but it was the best (drill related) decision I could have made. What used to take over a minute with my standard drill is done in seconds with this drill.Standalone hammer function is great I've taken out a old 60s fireplace and knocked down a garden wall with ease.I like it so much that I've bought the chuck adapter so that I can use this with my wood drill bits (obviously not in hammer mode).

Hitachi or Hikoki is rubbish
Have had a Bosch sds for last 10 years until it gave up. This time I thought I'd try Hitachi for the money it was on offer at, it had more punch for chiselling than Bosch and the motor had bigger power.I was impressed when it arrived, although the selector was very stiff and difficult to turn which concerned me. Needless to say the selector went faulty after two weeks and I'm now waiting on a replacement drill. I just hope it was a one off as I'd like to give it 5 stars.Update - trigger starting to fail and reverse power is non existent if you jam up.Another update 2018, 2nd drill exploded after 2 years. Never buy a Hitachi or Hikoki again. Conclusion - Bosch far superior drill.

No Side Handle
I ordered this product for my brother, when he came to pick it up we opened it and noticed there was no side handle provided even though it says it should have in the title
