LEATHER VILLAGE Rustic Vintage Leather Journal - Handmade Antique Leather Bound Diary Notebook - 10"X7", 200 Pages Writing Book for Women and Men

This is a nicely bound book, with nicely textured medium weight blank pages. The paper color is similar to school quality manilla paper, making it nice for images using opaque white for highlights. Its a very nice drawing surface for dry media, though its just a bit too absorbent for watercolor - not bad for drybrush, but just a touch dicey for wet surface work. I find that when working with a dip pen, the soft paper surface can shred occasionally - with a rapidograph or felt tip it takes the ink nicely though. The binding is tight and opens nearly flat when required. It has a classy rustic look to it, with nice ridges on the spine. I have quite a collection of high end blank books and this one compares very nicely to the best of them. At this price point, its an excellent value!

Absolutely buy it good size good quality good look , have to cover the front or choose your desire before it gets dirty but didn’t knock a star off because just a good buy

This is a beautifully designed journal. The pages absorb ink well. It is a very hardy journal at the 13X9 size.

No one makes books that look like BOOKS anymore. Everything has to be perfectly straight, flat, white, thin, and lined. Leather Village takes you to the past. Leather Village breaks the rules. Leather Village isn't a big fan of throw-away notebooks, Leather Village makes historical records, autobiographies, novels--lifelong heritage--through every one of it's oh-so-good smelling pages. DON'T BUY LEATHER VILLAGE IF YOU AREN'T SERIOUS ABOUT DEDICATING TIME TO WRITE/DRAW/PAINT/DESIGN/CHANGE THE WORLD, OR YOU'RE WASTING TIME AND MONEY!If you don't want Leather Village, go ahead and buy one of those over-priced, terrible, rule-abiding, ugly, faux-leather journals that have a mere hundred or so pages in them. Trust me, Leather Village leather is so fresh, it's still breathing.Only downside: don't use pencils, the eraser kills the paper quality, the journal is too good for your #2 graphite pencil from the bowels of hell (slave labor), to defile it.Sincerely,A very satisfied customer

Beautiful and well made.

I got this journal for making a junk journal / smashbook. It’s perfect. I love the deckle pages. I love the blank hardcover so you can make it your own. But…I hate how Amazon is shipping them. I got the first one in a paper bag. It had been banged around in transit. The corners were all bent in and the one decorative corner ripped. I requested a new one, Amazon is making me return the damaged one. The new one arrived today in a thin plastic bag (not even bubble wrap). Again the corners aren’t bent. You can kind of straighten them a bit, but I wish they would ship a 30 dollar book in a box or with some protection.
