USB Endoscope Papake Inspection Camera Endoscope 2.0 Megapixels 6 LED Security Cable Flexible Waterproof Endoscope Camera USB/Type-c/Micro USB Borescope for Android phone,Smartphone,SONY,Nexus,Laptop（5M）

The endoscope came neatly coiled in a small plain brown box, and was prevented from unravelling by two tiny velcro bands - one on either side of the coil. Also in the box, nestled in the centre of the coil, was a small polythene bag of accessories/attachments - including a magnet, a hook, and a mirror, which clip onto the light. The attachments sit in a groove near the head of the light so they don’t fall off when withdrawing from nooks and crannies, or down plug holes. The 5m cable has six led lights at one end, the brightness of which is adjusted by a tiny wheel on the USB plug, which is at the other end.This device also comes with a good user manual, in booklet form, and a mini CD which does not play on the standard DVD drive in my laptop, as it is too small. It is also supplied with 1 x USB Type-C, and 1 x MICRO USB, adapter. Unfortunately (and I cannot imagine why) a LIGHTNING USB adapter is NOT supplied - so I cannot use it with my iPhone 6. I have to plug it into my laptop to use it, which I find rather cumbersome, but thankfully the extra long 5m cable means I do not have to hold the laptop whilst ‘exploring’. The 5m cable allows me to rest the laptop somewhere and still be able to investigate. How much easier it would be, though, to be able to plug the endoscope directly into my phone, so I could install the app on it…... I’d even be able to look in my ears, and take photos on my phone!The actual endoscope is brilliant. I was able to look behind a radiator, that has a shelf over it, to look for socks and briefs that had been left on it to dry, but which had mysteriously disappeared. I found a sock, and lots of cobwebs and dust! Amazing (see photo of dusty cobwebs). It’s also useful for DIY jobs like hooking a cable though an otherwise inaccessible hole, etc. I wish I’d had this endoscope when I dropped a stud earring down the kitchen plug hole, never to be seen again. It would have saved me struggling inside the kitchen units, and dismantling the waste water plumbing, only to find it had been washed away.I appreciate that it would add to the price but, with so many small accessories, I feel it would be better if the endoscope came supplied with a little zipped case (like an earphones case), or even just a soft zipped pouch or a small drawstring bag, to keep it all together and help prevent loss of the small parts. I would also like whatever is on the mini CD to be sent via a link to all purchasers, after purchase (like other sellers do) as I feel I’m unable to take full advantage of the benefits of this endoscope. And, of course, I’d like a lightning adapter for owners of iPhones 5, 6 and 7 to be included. But for these three things I would have given the product five stars. The endoscope, with its attachments, is definitely worth 5*.

I wanted to use this to look into drainage pipes for leaks (sink, bath etc). The camera end is too wide for some plug holes, and the ones I can get into, I can't navigate around the u-bend/trap. The camera appears to have a very short fixed focus (millimetres), it does not focus to infinity. If, for example, I were to somehow navigate under floorboards, only objects a few millimetres would be in focus, too close will be out, and more importantly, any further would be out of focus, making it difficult to direct the camera to an area of interest. That all said, the 5m cable appears to be pointless, as you have no way to direct it. It looks like the 5 star reviews have only poked behind a radiator, looked inside a PC, and 'waggled' the camera a few inches under a floor. This type of use would only need a few inches of cable (depending on where the screen is), which would be OK to direct. Maybe that is enough for the reviewers, but personally, I can't see any real practical use considering the limitations.(I did note one reviewer used it for a drain, but only included pictures of the actual camera/accessories/manual)On a positive note, the camera installed easily on Windows 10, finding a driver without using the supplied CD (I have Cyberlink YouCam installed). I also used ScopeCam on my Samsung GS6, but found this to be inconsistent when attaching (noticed the review with the 'underfloor' video also had the same problem). The picture doesn't look great on my PC, but OK on the smaller screen. I believe the picture would be too poor in murky water (also, there is no way of rotating the picture, so you can get confused 'which way is up'). The USB converters are not good, as they shift/wobble NB you need to control the LED lighting from the 'USB end', making this worse. For the price, I may eventually find a use for it, but it is something that will be very infrequent, and so a storage bag/case would be useful, especially not to lose the adapters and accessories. The velcro 'ties' only wrap around the cable instead of having one end secured, so I expect I will lose them easily enough.It impressed me that I had a very polite message from Papake, who are interested in feedback to improve their products.

Sadly cannot get it to work on anything but my laptop which is no use as I wanted it to explore out in the garden. It is a nice set with different adapter ends but although the power goes on and I have downloaded the free software the camera is not recognised by any of my phones. Shame.

The product arrived quickly and in a good state. Valid for the little jobs in hidden places. The LED's are a bit weak in complete darkness but with some perseverance you can identify the image. Didn't work with my Samsung S6, but found the alternative app for the correct function of the device.

Not possible to make it work with my Samsung phone. Have tried the app suggested by the manufacturer and also another app. No luck so far.
