The Epic of Eden

This book gives a great background on the Old Testament! I heard of this book during a sermon & decided to get it. So glad I did! Gives great context - from someone trying to start understanding the OT, to something who went to seminary…definitely recommend!

Great book. Came with a dent in the cover, but overall came well put together. Read the first two chapters, and so far it’s amazing. Easy to read and follow with witty comments throughout!

Really good and easy read. I‘ve learnt so many things about the Bible and the OT by reading this book. Can really recommend it.

This is one of my favourite books. Sandra Richter tells us the story of God's redemptive plan through the various covenants made in the Old Testament right up to the last and current covenant made through Christ Jesus. Along the way she shares with us a deep understanding about the importance of a covenant to ancient near east peoples. This alone was a worth the price of the book. This is a work packed with insights you do not commonly come across which demonstrates the grasp the author has on the subject matter. This Epic of Eden should be divided by chapter and verse like that other great Old Testament work as you will surely want to use it for future reference.

Very easy to read yet full of invaluable information and insights. Excellently guides you to a framework for viewing, studying, and understanding the Old Testament.
