This heats up quickly and if you don't want perfectly straight hair, you can brush your hair with it. And it gives it a nice even straightening. It comes with a heat protecting glove and some hair clips for piecing out sections. So for truly straightening your hair it is quick and easy to do. I also find that the straightener gets close to the scalp without burning! Yay! No Burns to the ears or scalp or face. It is a little bulky and heavy, so I don't travel with it. That's good for keeping at home.

So I had this for a few days and just used it today for the first time. I don't have thin hair, far from thick, but a LOT of hair. And to make things harder, I don't have perfectly straight hair, or even a mild wave (until summer when I sleep in braids then hairspray it the next day to death - then I have nice wavey hair lol). It's winter now, no sleeping in wet braids, and I like to see my straight hair, I prefer myself in straight hair. What I hate is blowing my hair, it's a chore. And then after that chore, one wet day outside or one tossing and turning night and my beautiful straight hair is either frizzy or mildly wavey, but not nice wavy. So I blew it straight yesterday late afternoon, shiny and beautiful straight - my hair is about 3/4 down my back, pretty much all one length and when I woke up for my appt this morning it was a wreck. Literally despising blowing my hair, I decided to see if this would work. OMG! I put a little shine oil in my hair to help with the heat, and WOW, in literally only a few brush strokes my hair was pin straight and shiny again. I'm thrilled! Best purchase I've made in many years with regard to selfcare. This is my new best friend! I'm unsure what the glove that comes with it is for, does anyone know?

Get the black one! I have the black one and it works so good to the point I wanted to buy another one just to have as a spare because out of all the brush straighteners I have tried, none worked as good as the black one. But this time I wanted to try a different color, don't know why I did that because it does not get as hot as the black one and the material feels cheap unlike the black one. So if you are looking for one that works, forget the cute colors and get the one that actually works and that is the black one, now that one is the 5 star but the pink one was returned! Thank me later

I was skeptical to buy one of these hair straighteners because I wasn’t sure how it well it would work on a black woman’s thick, natural hair. I didn’t want to get something that I had to turn up to 400 degrees to get it to straighten my hair and end up damaging it. I also wasn’t trying to ruin my curl pattern. But I absolutely love this straightner! I love that the “teeth” of the brush are thick and that each “bristle” has tiny ceramic plates covering it. I only turned the heat up to 310 degrees and it worked for what I wanted it to do. I wanted to dry and straighten at the same time. I wasn’t trying to get it like a silk press. I was just trying to stretch it a bit. My hair was damp, but not drenched since I towel dried it. But I also made sure to use a heat protecting spray.I bought this on sale, almost half off so I was excited to get it! The handle has a little weight to it, but it’s easy to grip and it doesn’t feel cheap at all. And it heats up almost immediately! After doing my entire head, there was barely any hair caught in the brush! This is my new favorite hair product!

Fun to use but I think my hair is too thick for it to really work. I think it would work just fine on thinner, less-coarse hair.
