Garden Games Giant Chess Set Pieces, King Measures 64 Centimetres Tall, Base is 23cm in Diameter

This is the 2nd set I’ve owned. We decided to make a chess set in our garden. Everybody loves it. The more expensive sets were either really heavy or couldn’t be used by everybody. This is fab.The downside is the 1st set I left outside all year round and it didn’t look great. It’s hard to explain but it’s like the coating peeled off. I’ve looked what can be done to stop this but there doesn’t seem to be anything. I don’t believe this would be good for heavy use but it’s great fun and looks great.

I have a project in mind but will have to wait for the better weather

This is exactly what I needed for some outdoor games for work. Really quick delivery. Smells very plasticky when you open it, but robust, strong and perfect size.

These Giant chess pieces are great for any household.Both the adults and kids can't wait for their turn to play - as it comes with clear instructions it is easy to explain to the children how to play the game and as they are Giant pieces they are drawn to want to play and soon pick up the rules of the game and have hours of fun.The pieces are made from a very robust plastic and stand up to the great British weather, they have been out in the sun and rain and still look great with no adverse effects.As the chess pieces come in two sections you can fill the bottom part with water (or something else if you want but I chose water) which weights them and even in the strong winds they didn't blow away.I would recommend these to anyone looking for Giant Chess Pieces we have had lots of fun with them and it's a great centre piece in the Garden at the family BBQ.

Be aware doesn't come with the boardIt's just the pices

This is unfortunately not very good quality and not substantial it falls apart

I bought these for my school, just the right size and shape for the board we have marked on the ground. However, the rounded base sections, in to which the top sections screw, those to be filled with ballast (sand or water), keep falling apart because the snap-together joints do not hold. As children play, the bottoms fall in half and the sand falls out.I have tried one glue and now intend to try contact adhesive with a plastic strip around the join to make sure. Also, fill with small gravel as the pieces leak water inside from the rain and the sand become waterlogged and messy when it leaks back out as the pieces are played with.Shouldn't have to work this hard to make these work, but they could be good once they are set up.
