I bought a headboard from Amazon, the plastic packaging was stapled all around the back of the board, an ordinary paper staple remover would have been useless, so l invested in this stapler. It worked like a dream, all the tough upholstery staples removed effortlessly in minutes, you wont regret buying it for sure.

I good product that works perfectly at lifting Staples (even stubborn deep set ones). The trick is to keep it a s square to the staple as possible or you could split staples which may need the use of pliers to remove. You can use this tool to remove them depending on how long the staple extruding is. Simply attach reomver to extrduing staple, grip and press the bottom plate and twist while applying pressure. Saved a lot of time and definately speeds up the process of removing staples

I had to take up some old foam carpet underlay recently that had been very well held in place on the wooden floor by a not inconsiderable amount of metal staples. On other occasions, I have removed them by using an old screwdriver and pliers. Although ok, it does make the palms of your hands very sore using that method even wearing gloves.As I had a very large number of staples to remove this time, I decided to look on the web to see if there was an easier method/tool that would do the job and not make my hands sore. After searching, I came upon this Mannesmann Heavy Duty Staple Remover. After reading the reviews, I decided to try it out on my floor.Much to my delight, this tool actually made for a very quick and easy way of removing staples, be they long or short legged. After about an hour I had removed all of the staples by just using the Staple Remover only. As well as just raising most of the staple out of the wood, if you get one that is partially raised and you would normally use pliers to pull it out, you can use the movable little strip of metal at the working end of the remover as a kind of plier to pull out the stubborn staple leg as well.I really enjoyed my time removing the staples as it was so easy. No sore palms and you do not need to wear any type of glove to protect you hands, unless you want to of course. At the end of my work I wished that I could find more old staples to remove as I enjoyed using the Mannesmann Staple Remover so much!The Remover is very well made and comfortable to hold when using. It is a sturdy tool that should last the user many years. Definitely very good value for money. I only regret is that I wish I had found out about this tool years ago!

Handy tool, made stripping old seat covers off ready for re-upholstering

Price good value, delivery quick. I have used the remover to take out numerous staples when I revived large foot stool I made in 1990's (traditional upholstery techniques with artificial horsehair but MDF base used hence staples securing inner and outer fabrics, then handsewn trim to hide staples). The staple remover flat tip was great to lever up embedded staples to get access to slide under and remove staple - any legs that proved difficult to get fully out, it's good for twisting the staple to one side while it's still held in the remover, and get more leverage, but if it won't budge use pliers. The flat tip of the remover also great to lever out upholstery tacks, as I did to strip back a lovely chair I also upholstered years ago - as with staples, if too deeply embedded use a thin flat head small screwdriver to lift enough for remover to get in - I used 2 different sized ones from sewing machine toolbox. The remover is well made and I'm sure it will see me through the future projects I have in mind.

Used this to remove old staples when replacing cover on window seat, before buying this had tried to remove the staples using screwdriver which was not working very wellUsed a “wiggling” action to work this device under the staple, pivoted the tool to start lifting the staple, when the staple was across the wider part of the staple remover it was removed cleanly with out breaking, if it was close to the point then I found the staple could break thus having to remove the ends using mole grips/pliers. Staples were very old which might have caused the breakages.Found using this tool speeded up the process of removing the staples, well worth the purchase price
