Brilliant for cats and chickens (honestly)
The media could not be loaded. I wanted something to engage a cheeky cat who will open drawers and cupboards in her quest for treats.I have used the plastic balls with holes in, but she gets the food out very fast. This is perfect. It is well made, the right size for a cat, and easy for them to use. The levers and lids all slide very smoothly and move with just a nudge of the paw or nose. It is a level 2 toy (level 1 is easy, level 3 is hard). As the cat found this too easy I gave it to the two chickens. They enjoy it when it is primed with corn and will be seen occasionally exploring it just in case. It survives well outside although I did bring it in at nights during the winter. The chickens can access all of the compartments by using their beaks. Makes a great party trick!I have had this toy for a couple of years at least and it is definitely very robust.* Would recommend +++*I have recently replaced it as a builder stood on it - the toy did not survive.2018 update. I now have two ex-battery chickens and a bantam Orpington. They, too, thoroughly enjoy this and have all picked up this game quickly. The toy is very, very sturdy and the last one was been kept outside for a couple of years. I am reordering as I stood on it and broke a flip board....2022 Update This lasts forever outside unless I stand on it🤦🏻♀️All my chickens (mostly rescue) have loved this toy and start to get very excited when it appears.

Great but easy to crack
My border terrier puppy loves this! She cracked it by 10/11 weeks old so we may have to get a harder one now, but it’s great for keeping them entertained

Fun value toy
Bought for my Border Collie to see if she would enjoy puzzle toys before buying something more expensive. Although she's a rather petite collie at 17kg, this toy was really too small for her and she was too rough for it - she turned it over regularly - much better suited to a small dog so have donated it to local dog charity.Brilliant value and served a purpose for me, hence the 4* rating, although it wasn't suitable for my dog. She did enjoy the challenge of finding the treats though (even though she's not massively food motivated), so will find a larger puzzle toy for her. The toy was easy to clean and robust enough to put up with her bashing it about without anything breaking!

Good fun game
Our puppy loved this initially - and still gets excited when we let him play the game now for treats - he mastered it pretty quick (not daft!)

Plastic switch broke
Two months of enjoyment for our hound, easy enough with solid treats or lickable ones. Unimpressed though to have walked in two days ago and found one of the switches for the hatches broken. It looks like there was a flaw in the plastic perhaps? Snapped clean through. I'll be trying to fix it with super glue but I do feel this should be sturdy enough to last longer than two months. It makes me worry a bit about the safety too so maybe be careful to supervise, though the broken parts dropped through to the floor rather than being near the treats.

Good for small dogs or who find treat hunting more challenging.
I have a two year old cockapoo and he figured it out in under a minute. And that was that 😂. It’s great for dogs that might find treat hunting more of a challenge or are young / old and new to it.I picked this one as it’s his first plastic treat box. He does have a material one that he loves so perhaps I should have gone for a harder one. It’s a great product and recommended for some dogs definitely. Excellent price. But if your dog is medium sized upwards and fairly bright it’s probably far too easy. Good for starting out.

Dogs love it, but NOT suitable for ALL size breeds as stated!
I purchased two of these Trixie activity centres for a medium-sized cocker-cross and small bison friche. Both dogs spend at least 10 minutes finding and retrieving all the hidden treats/food, a task they clearly love, so it's proving a great enrichment activity. However there's a caveat: it's a perfect size for the petite bison friche, but the tiny spaces are far to small for the medium-size dog's paws to fit into. Although he can nose and lick the treats out, he gets over-excited/frustrated and inevitably ends up pawing across it wildly trying to move the lever and slide the covers. It's well made, but fairly light, so it ends up being thrown across the floor! So I'd recommend it highly for small breeds, but the product description of `suitable for all breeds' (which convinced me to purchase) should be ignored.
